I would like to thank again Todd Fisher (Taf) and the crew at Team Ford for resolving my transmission wows and making my car better then before. The proof is in the Dyno and finally the Track. Today I became a member of the elite N/A sub 14-second club. My previous best was in the 14.8 to 14.6 range at the same track, but after returning from Atlanta I knew I was now ready for prime time. Not only did I post my best time of 13.858, I repeated this task 3 times. Their were many kills today to include a BMW M3, a few GT’s, and one poorly shifting ZO6. Did very well against a Mach 1 and Lighting. Lots of fun and can’t wait to return to Atlanta for more goodies.

Mark...that is GREAT news, my friend!!!!

Only one thing though...I did nothing...you just had the best hands you could have touching your car with Aric on the tune and "The Bradshaw Boys" on the tranny. I'm thrilled to see that you're this happy and getting those kinds of numbers on an August afternoon!!!! :burnout:

Pam just reminded me that this was not my best time. I had a dial-in of 13.88 but out ran my time with a 13.848. I will update the time slips database and post the actual slip and soon as my digital camera charges. :D

Awesome Mark!!!

What were your 60ft. times?

I learned that with a good set of tires...yes, even soft, bald street radials, one can shave off a tenth or more.

Trick number 1: Remove the left headlight for better air flow. Looks silly, but I have pulled 104 mph trap speeds and dropped 2 tenths on a hot day.

Another trick is to get a radical tune for some serious high octane. My #4 tune is for 100 octane, but I typically add 2-3 gallons of 110-114 on top of a few gallons of 100 pump gas. That knocked 2 more tenths for me.

With true slicks, and a Mazzy pump....I'm shooting for 13.1's next month.

Hey, nice #'s Merc...... I've noticed that a number of people at the track are surprised when they see Marauders getting into the 13's. For some reason, a lot of people think these cars a real dogs. Maybe it's because of all the bad press they've received from the Jap car loving magazines.

I know our cars aren't like greased lightning out of the showroom, but they do have respectable performance for a big sedan, and w/the DOHC 32 valve engines, they can really be awakened quite a bit w/the correct modifications.

Barry check my timeslips for 60 foot times.

2.046 was my 60 foot time.

Thanks man...forgot about the timeslip page!

Some good tires will get you under the 2 second range. That has got to be the worst, most painfull thing about not having the supercharger...poor 60 foot times.

I have finally gotten under 2 secs consistantly, with a best of 1.87 on a super high revving launch.

I was using 25,000 miles plus O.E.M tires on the rear with 30 pounds of air pressure. I tried a 2000 rpm lunch and burned tires for the next 100 feet. My best time on this track was brake to pedal and no engine reving. What I did find is a had to burn the tires in the water box in order to make better 60 foot times. If I didn't light time up I lost .2 -.5 seconds off the 60 feet numbers.

The attached picture below is the smoke from a 2,500 rpm launch. The white somke is from the tires not my exhaust. I was slipping badly at start.
