I know this is a nit and I'm sorry for bothering folks with it, but my owner's manual for the stereo mentions a DSP button which I have. Supposedly pressing DSP and then SEL will give me sound choices such as JAZZ and CONCERT, and a few others. Pressing DSP again and you have choices DRIVERS SEAT, ALL SEATS, and REAR SEATS.
Well, I have the three seat choices fine, but can't find these other sound choices no matter how many menus I go thru. Any ideas? My car should have this feature as I have the RDS/DSP button in place, but the instructions are unclear.
Just wondering what functionality everyone else has.
Thanks!
Norm

Don't feel bad, these features do not exist on the radios in our cars.

My first day here some guy PM'd me and told me no matter what anyone ever said to ignore all posts to the contrary and ONLY use some stuff called "Royal Purple." He said everyone else on MM.net who had a different opinion was delusional, and that any other oil would rot my engine, void the warranty, and cause the rings to bind in the cylinders!? Seems our engines have special "Cobra rings" that need the lubrication only the wondrous Royal Purple can provide. Wow!
Anyway, I didn't know any better, so went out and bought two cases of the stuff.
What, was my info wrong? Don't want to stir things up, but... (-: (-;

Hey, thanks for all the great info on the stereo. Figures there would even have been a thread about that here! Can't believe the stuff I learn here, first the wonders of "Royal Purple" and now "Speed Volume!"
Thanks again to everyone who responded. (BTW, just kidding about the RP oil. Someone did mention it to me, but I had my own ideas on oil I'll keep to myself!)
Regards,
Norm

When I purchased my Marauder I started "hittin" buttons on my radio and I remember observing "jazz" "rock" "classical" selection choices utilizing the DSP button. Actually, I `ve not thought about switching to a different choice..till now. :2thumbs:
Yep, mine will also display those Jazz, etc. readings. I've never bothered to make any changes to them, though, so I don't know how they work.

It seems to me that, in the '03 models with that radio, when you pressed the DSP button the first time you got the seat sound selections then if you pressed it again you were able to change the effects from "jazz Club" to "Church" to "stadium" etc. I know it's that way in my wife's '03 Escape with the same radio and, if I'm remembering right, it was that way in the all the '03's we sold here. In '04 they changed that radio so what you got was a selection between "ambiance on" or "ambiance off". Hopefully, they upgraded the owners manual to reflect that.

Great, now I have to look up Ambience in the dictionary,
Thanks a lot, I would've been better off talking about oil.

If you don't have "ambience" on yours, it must be the decontented model.
