Those are really nice Doc. but their were some great road greats their like the Trans Am cars, the GTX Hemi that was a test mule for Chrysler in the 60's and early 70's(the silver 67, near the top) it's very hard to say what my favorite one was. ( Am partial to the SCJTorino )
During the judging they had the owners start and rev the motors up, the ladies of the crowd screamed at the first couple of cars with no mufflers, the sound on the open grounds when the dragsters were lit was preetty nice.

Please tell more about the location. That grey Dodge with Dave Strickler on the side? Dave was a big time racer from York US 30 Dragway in the late 50 - 60's. Bill Jenkens (Grumpy's Toy fame) was his tuner, and they worked for Ammon R Smith Chevy Garage out of York. Dave had a heart attack an was dead at a very early age. I ran into Bill in New Orleans in the fall of '68 when he was campaigning a Chevy II. Boy, did that picture bring back a flood of memories. Logan? There's a place to go for a MM road trip.

I know what you mean, some of these I've only seen in magazines! The show was at Edsel's home here in Michigan and every year it is a different theme, this year it was my favorite, Hot Rods... :burn: I don't know when if ever these cars will all be in one place again.

We live near Carlisle, but they're theme (read brand) oriented, so you see Ford or GM or ... The thing about your show, was, it had everything. I'm not kidding, I would have been in tears, and got choked up just thinking about "Strick" and those wonderful days at US 30. BTW, there were a bunch of Thunderbolts at Carlisle this year. The All Ford Nationals is worth the trip.

Mike, me and my buddies stayed after the show and most of the cars were started up, a few were not runable, and we followed them to the huge parking lot where they were loaded up in moving vans, some the lenght of 4 or five cars. It was well worth the sunburn and getting yelled at for being late to the fireworks party that night, hell after that who cared about fireworks, we already heard em!
Check the FE Nationals post I have for the pictures of TBolts, of 9-18-04.
