Sad News, Indian Larry dies in accident

If you are a fan of Monster Garage, or of the Jesse James specials, you will know the name Indian Larry. Indian Larry was known to ride one of his bikes standing up, a feat that cost him his life today as a result from head injuries he suffered from an accident at an event in North Carolina on Saturday.

That is sad and am sorry to here that, he was a great builder, I saw the stuff he did while riding, thought he was a might old to be doing that.

This happened here in the City of Concord where I live. The local Charlotte stations have given him a lot of coverage. Sad!

Very talented builder. His bikes were old school styles, not really my style but they were nice. Big loss in the biker community.

According to our local paper this morning, he was riding the bike while standing. It started to wobble and he lost control. He was not wearing a helmet and hit his head when he fell.

There were 8,000 people in attendance at the Liquid Steel Classic and Custom Bike Series. He was in attendance displaying his bike and was not part of any scheduled event. He evidently attemped this stunt on his own.

That's a shame...I saw some of his bikes and this guy was a master!!!

While I agree that it is always a loss when a talented and colorful person dies before his time, leaving loved ones to mourn him, I have to look at this just a little differently than some might. This fellow, who obviously knew the dangers of doing certain things on a motorcycle, chose to ride while standing on the bike, with no helmet. This was just someone showing off and asking for a fatal accident. The sad part is, there are young people out there who idolize guys like this who will try to copy him and end up dead (or worse) themselves.

DITTO^^^^ What Ross said....It's a sad loss but I can't say I didn't think "told you so" when I heard the news. I had seen Indian Larry riding (standing) on his bike @ 60 mph; as well as lying back, fully reclined, arms crossed, with his feet up on the handlebars. Cool looking BUT JUST BEGGING FOR TROUBLE.
