Everyone talks about what a failure our cars were. I just saw in our local papers the dealers are offering new 2004 GTOs for $229 a month with $1667 down. This is damn near cheaper than I paid for my PT. Maybe I will get one as a new winter beater (ha-ha).

That's gotta be a lease.

I bet it's a lease too. They have to get rid of the fugly ones so they can have room to sell the new 05s

It is a two year lease with 12,000 miles per year. Still cheap for a 350hp Cavalier look-alike.

I knew they made a big mistake when they announced 'big improvements' for the next year, even before the first year was out.....

Apparently they now are offing an optional hood with scoops for the current ones.

Check the latest issue of Hot Rod magazine (the one about the new '69 Camaro convertible bodies) In the letters section there is a pretty good letter from a new GTO owner. If you were to substitute "Marauder" for GTO in his letter it would hold up just as well.

When you see something that is too good to be true........ it usually is. But you all know this. I don't have to tell ya.

A $25,000 GTO, a low estimate, with $1,667 down leaves $23,333 to be financed.

At 5% interest for 48 months the payments would be $537.

At 5% interest for 60 months the payments would be $440.

At 5% interest for 72 months the payments would be $376.

So........... the $229/month is obviously a lease with a very large balloon payment at the end of the lease if you decide to keep the car. :)
