CompUSA is running a special on Netgear wireless networking routers and cards, the "super G" 108 Mbps stuff had me make the leap to convert from my wired network to wireless. I replace my Lynksys router with the Netgear Firewall wireless 108, replaced a wonky Intel network card in my CPU with a new Netgear gigbit card, installed a Netgear 108 card in my laptop, and a 108 card in the old system in the living room. Tonight was the first time to tweak everything, and I am extremely pleased that right now as I type this on my laptop, Windows reports my connection speed at 108 Mbps! The remote computer is only receiving a 59% signal strength (time to get another antenna) but it still reports connection speed at 72 Mbps. Not bad.
The sale is great, and there's two rebates on every Netgear item. Jump on this if you're thinking about going wireless.

Those things are awesome for talking to other computers in your wireless network like for files transfers. For browsing the net, it'll only be as fast as your slowest point....the wire plugged into it. :D
But still...those speeds are quite inpressive!!!

As with any network...especially a wireless one, make sure that it is secure! You don't want somebody out driving to pick up your network on their laptop as they pass by your house.

I'm far enough away from the street that I don't have to worry about that, thank goodness. .

The Netgear Firewall wireless 108 router has WEP encription and all access is passworded.

You mean BEFORE I show her your comments on her picture....or after?
