Yeah, come off with it Todd...
I reckon these will be on the beast, too? Scott's gonna kill you if you keep coming up with goodies to be added to the project.

Adjustable coil over shocks
Anyone have any more info on these goodies? :D I looked at the pictures and saw the rears. Looks like the mounts were moved. I went to the NAAKE website too. Looks pretty cool. How did Marty go about getting them made? What's the process and how much did they cost?
Thanks

That Marty...he just knows how to get things done.... :bs:
Call Mike or Joel at Naake Suspension Specialists, www.naake.com (http://www.naake.com) and tell him you're a friend of Todd Fisher. *I have no financial gain from any transactions with Naake.

I am just kidding. The folks at Naake Motorsports are good people to deal with.

Could someone explain in layman's terms what the advantage of these shocks are (other than looking really nice :D ) and what one might be able to do with them vs. the OEM shocks. I assume that being adjustable is something that is desirable? What effect does an adjustment have?

Being adjustable gives you the ability to tune the suspension so you can get more traction. I think there would be more use during road racing than drag racing. Drag racing I believe you would only need to adjust the rear shocks. During road racing you can adjust the fronts so that the front end does not plow into the turn so much.
Than after all the racing you can turn it back to a soft setting for daily driving.

Like BK-marq said, but in addition:
If you look at the (gallery photo) spring on the right, the lower portion is threaded, and there is a movable collar that the spring rides on. That is for height.
If you look at the bottom of the shock portion, there is a small screw there as well. With this, you can usually adjust the pressure of the shock. Most racing type shocks allow you to adjust how stiff or loose the shock is on compression, and how stiff or loose the shock is on the expansion, or stroke phase.
So when you hit a bump, you can control how stiff the shock feels, and how quickly it will put the tire back on the road afterward. Plus, you can change the height of the front suspension.
I don't know if both directions of travel can be controlled for this shock though . . .

Another advantage for the rears is that they provide plenty of clearance for the bigger tires with widened rims.
Steve gave them the BIG ...

No disrespect intended Joel, but you will probably want to contact Logan (site owner) and inquire about becoming a "supporting vendor" before you start soliciting business. Member to member referrals are one thing, but vendor solicitations are a different matter altogether. Play by the rules and you will make out fine around here. ;)

Careful Dave, if you speak about Steve B. that way, he will not come to your birthday party and bring you gifts. Did I mention that he brought me a brand new 2004 Cobra for my B-day?

um im not trying to get business, todd spent a lot of money with us to have this developed, and i could care less if we sell one kit, we would go out of business if this was our goal, we supply shocks to most NASCAR teams and a large number of Hot Rod builders, i enjoyed working with him on this project and as a service to you, the owners of these cars, i am offering the info, so that you dont have to go and develop your own kit. But if you want to kick me off or edit my posts, then fine, it was fun and i hope you enjoy the ride !

I just spoke with Joel today about the shocks. Great guy and very informative too. I applaud you Todd for what you did to get this done for the Marauder on this project. :2thumbs: I'm on my way to saving for a set of shocks. Just speaking to Joel I am starting to see how much was spent on this project. Manpower wise and financially. :bows:
