Heading out for the rock, Rockingham NC today for the IHRA world finals. A great day of mountain motor pro stocks, door slammers, and top fuel. High temp about 70, should make for some great times. And the "Night of Fire" this evening with the jet powered dragsters!

Forgot my camera. Awesome competition. less than 0.07 seconds separated the entire field of 16 pro stockers, 6.435 to 6.502, and new records were set in pro stock and pro modified. There were 49 pro modified entries to fill the field of 16 qualifiers. 41 Willys, 55 Chevy, 57 Chevy, 63 Vette, 55 Ford, Camaro, late model Vette, all sorts of wild looking machines. Love the door slammers. And pro stock Harley, man are those guys crazy. Hanging off the side to keep it in the lane, turning 6.6 seconds at over 200 mph. The riders wear flack jackets with steel plates to keep cylinder heads from penetrating the chest when they blow up!
