cool, so at 15.5 I have nothing to worry about. Actually that's good news as I really expect to work on my MM until I get under 12 and even better for my 442 as I don't want a roll bar in it period. Athough I will eventually make sure its a 13 second car I'm not worried about lower than 13.5

I guess more people will need roll cages. It is fun to race but gotta be safe too.

Also lowering the driveshaft loop rule to 11.49 Doubt I'll ever be that quick but I'm putting in a loop anyway. Glad to see the roll bar rule change, I really do hope to dip into the high 11's someday and would rather not have to put in a roll bar.

Ditto....ditto....and ditto.

I'll hit the 11's next year....but I'll never see 11.49.

I"m also putting on a driveshaft loop....just to be safe.

I've seen arguments against a loop before, with the argument that the x-pipe or h-pipe will hold the driveshaft up and prevent a pole-vault. I used to think that way too, but I've talked to a couple of guys that have experienced it and/or repaired the damage. The shaft will beat the he** out of the underside of the car if it breaks a front u-joint and gets loose. It won't stay in the center of the tunnel, it will drop down on the exhaust while spinning, then try to go over to the side, hit the floor pan and slam back over to the other side, over and over till it beats up the driveshaft, the tunnel, floor pans, exhaust system, and who knows what else it may hit. I value my driveshaft and exhaust system enough to try and protect them, not to mention the floor pans.

Just a reminder...The next time any of y'all are cruising around town in 3rd gear with OD off, glance at your tach and know, that's your driveshaft's rotational speed...Think about it.

Awesome violence when something breaks loose, eh?

Cheap insurance, and not a bad idea for all your RWD vehicles.
