on the dyno at T*am F*rd...1023RWHP T-Bird built by Steve Petty. I've got video of the runs, as well...but don't know how to upload those. Maybe Marty will host those and I/he can link them. This thing redefined "Beast"....but, of course only had 2 doors. More pics in the Gallery....

Good Golly Miss Molly!!!! :awe:
That Turbo could suck in a ricer!!!
Steve Petty could definitely claim that; "Mine's bigger than yours"

I believe he runs the Outlaw series. They had an earlier event cancelled by hurricane Ivan and the make-up is this weekend, a 20,000.00 purse.

I suppose operating the camera is more important than putting out the fire!

In terms of troubleshooting the "cause and origin" of the failure, yes, it is.

It's kind of like those guys that get those "Most Amazing" videos....The vidiot behind the camera never stops filming!!

Note at the beginning of the video...that's Steve Petty...about 40 ft away and holding his ears. The camera was sitting by itself on the Dyno table next to the car. Call me what you want...but when I saw Steve (the builder of the engine) standing 40+ ft. away when this car was doing pulls....I was standing at LEAST 45. And as far as putting the fire out...I just wanted to save the camera...

Smart move... if the builder doesn't feel safe up close and personal I'm all for getting back too. Kind of surprised the guys at Team Ford felt safe enough to even operate it for the pulls!

So did they have to spray the fire extinguishers?

Yeah...the good thing is...I learned that C-16 is not nearly as flammable as regular octane gas...otherwise...it could have been a mess. The "boys" were "old-hand" at it...I was the one needing a change of underwear.
