:flamer: Hey there this is Heavy351's wife...he wanted to let you all know that we are crusing in the marauder at 70 miles an hour and surfing the web!

We've got the laptop hooked up with a wireless sprint card and an adaptor for power. Delorme street atlas with GPS and voice recognition to guide us on our journey to CT!

This is fun!

I have the laptop and GPS but the Sprint card sounds like the next toy I need.

Nice!!!

That connection is still on my list. For now I still have to pull over when I get a good wireless unsecured hit.

I don't know if this applies anymore, but I formerly had sprint service on my boat. We were moving the boat FL to NY and online via thier wireless phone and apparently traveled into "roam" terratory somewhere in the rural North Carolina/VA region. Once you are off their "nationwide" network all bets are off. I received a $3400.00 cell phone bill ( 2 $1700.00 actually) and was told by Sprint "Sorry, that was not on our network, that is how much we were billed by "Jim-Bobs Tower Company" and that bill is your responsibilty" .

The bottom line was I had to pay it. So, make sure they have corrected that bit on fine print in their contract.

I don't use Sprint too much anymore.

Also consider this: I had that set up too. The speed was very slow, like 14.4 modem s l o w. It was great for emergencys and the quick check of the email. I would not make this my main connection.

I have heard that the TMobile service is good and the speed is better than dial-up (marginally anyway). I believe it is only $20 a month for unlimited use too. I am sure I will be getting it sooner or later but really don't have the need to be 'that connected'.

Actually, this is her company laptop and she is supposed to be using this for "work related access only"

We never see a bill but I know that the service is expensive. One of her coworkers got chewed out for leaving the connection up over a weekend.

It is very slow (like dialup slow) and tends to disconnect you pretty often when you are moving.

I just had to post, road trip in the Marauder while surfing mercurymarauder.net !!

In New York City, Verizon has over 500 WiFi Hot Spots
setup throughout Manhattan.

If you are a Verizon Wireless or Verizon DSL customer,
all you need to do is buy the WiFi card for your notebook PC,
and the access is UNLIMITED AND FREE !!!
