That would be cool if it works. Anyone have any real life experience with it?

I have that stuff on my plate, over time, my plate has yellowed from it, it seems to have taken the reflectivity of the plate off( covered it up). I tried taken photos of it with a falsh camera, but i still read the plate, but i know the photo cop cameras use a different technology for taking pics. For the $30 it cost, i think its good piece of mind.

I am willing to bet that using that stuff is illegal in a lot of places. Here's what they did in Texas:

Senate Bill 439 amends Section 502.409(a), Transportation Code, to provide that, in addition to current statutory restrictions, a person commits an offense if the person attaches to or displays on a motor vehicle a number plate or registration insignia that:

has identification marks that, because of reflective matter, are not plainly visible at all times during daylight;

has an attached illumination device or emblem not authorized by law and that interferes with the readability of the letters or numbers on the plate or the name of the state in which the vehicle is registered; or

alters or obscures the letters, numbers, color, or original design features of the plate.

It's would be illegal in North Carolina also. In fact if you have any covering over your plate or even a frame around the plate it's illegal. I did successfully fight a ticket because the cop had one on his patrol car as did many of the other patrol cars. I'm a citizen volunteer with the police department and they actively try to identify any vehicles that have non-readable plates that activate the red-light cameras.

We also had many people get tickets for not stopping before making a right-on-red. Seems the red-light cameras can be programmed to lookout for those violators also.

Here you would be charged with falsifying / altering a reg. plate. That is a must appear and is arrestable. Just stop at red lights and pay tolls. For the altering cover, if your cool and dont act like a fool, you might get off with just a ticket. If you went and sprayed some altering agent, as stated above, I promise you, you would go to jail. Your car would be towed, tags would be confiscated for evidence and displayed in court as evidence against you.

Not worth it in my opinion
