I miss having a standard transmission. I don't regret selling the Vette though, because I needed the $$ for the S/Cer and to pay off some bills too. For me it boiled down to having a choice of either owning two 13 second cars, or one supercharged 12 second car. And because I've never had a S/Ced car, before, nor one that can get well into the 12 second bracket, I made the choice to sell the Vette. Yes, I miss it, but I did have it for 6 years, and it was getting tired and needed repairs that i wouldn't have had the money to do anyway. So I had to move on. Atleast I have my Big Black rocketship!!!

Sad ending.

A few weeks after I sold the car, I got a call from the Hackensack police telling me that they found my Corvette-in the Hackensack River.

I don't know how it got there or why the police thought that it was still mine, but I never heard from them about the car ever again.

I used to love driving that car at night along a well lit strip with the headlights turned on, but still pointing in instead of out. Gave the car a mean look.

Bought it new for $4,200; sold it one year later for $3,150, and bought a bedroom set and a 66 Comet Cyclone 289 2V convertible. That's what getting married does to you; makes you do dumb things.
