MM Jacket Info from Ford

I've been following the jacket threads since I bought my new '04 DTR in October. It's now been nearly 5 weeks and no card. So, I e-mailed Customer Service via the Mercury web site. In about 2-3 days I got a phone message from them:

They got my e-mail, know I bought the new '04, and understand what I'm asking - where's the card. Answer was, due to shortage in supply of the jackets the CARDS won't be mailed out until late January or early February. If you don't get the card by then, call again.:confused: :confused: :confused: :confused:

What do you make of this? I'd like to know if anyone is getting cards after late October purchases. If so, then I don't believe this answer. I'd rather have the card, mail it in and then wait for the jacket.

Contact Alan Pinter, @ 248-458-5122, he'll take care of you, my second jacket took quite awhile, bought the car in 03/04, just got the jacket two weeks ago.. He'll need your VIN, and get things going for you.. Do a search with his name, you'll get all the info you need to make it happen.

What I make of this is: All of you whom bought '04's are lucky to get jackets at all!

The program was supposed to be disbanned after the '03, but someone goofed and kept the offer open even after Ford told the jacket makers to be gone. It was a big advertising fiasco and a PITA to get the vendors to agree to make the jackets again.....yada yada....we went over this in one of the some 50 jacket threads that are out there if you do a search.....

So please! Be patient. Your card will come.....your jacket will come....and by god these threads about jackets will be done soon too some 5 months after the last '04 is adopted.

Now then...back to our regularly scheduled yada yada....:D

Well, after L/M told me over the phone not to expect the card until January or February, it came today, 52 days after purchase. The card says wait 3 - 4 weeks for the jacket. Maybe it won't take too long depending on how the sizes are distributed. I might get to use it this Winter!

It's a good day today.

We bought our "new" 2004 Marauder approximately 25 days ago (November 18, to be exact). Today I open my mailbox, and lo and behold, there's my card from Mercury to order my jacket!!! Things like this aren't supposed to happen on MONDAY'S, are they?!? Miracles still do happen, so it seems.

I got my car on July 12th, 2004. Never got any card. Finally called Alan Pinter and he said wait some more. I waited till late August and still not card. They ended up sending ti to the wrong address and i never got my card. They said they ordered my jacket in late August. To date, still no jacket.

My L/M Dealer told me that '04 purchases and "A" planners were excluded from the jacket. Called Allan, and e-mailed him my requested VIN # along with shipping address.

Received mine 7 days later, . I was also told that XX and XXXL's were having to be made when ordered thus creating a hell of a backlog. I was fortunate to wear an XL that he had on the shelf explaining the prompt delivery.

Wore the jacket to my dealer and showed it off to my salesman. Man, was he jealous and imbarassed!:D

Jon, it's more of a fall and spring jacket IMHO. When the temps dropped here inn VA today, the MM jacket was a little thin to keep all the cold out without a sweater under it.

Yeah it was cold in VA today, about 35 with a lot of wind. I wore my heavy black leather coat. Oh well, if the MM jacket is late I'll have it for Spring!

I bought mine 10/2/04 and just got the card this week. When I asked my salesman about this a few weeks back, he had no idea about this program. I assume he asked somebody there so the dealership is apparently unaware. However many folks bought thier MM at Regency LM in Dallas, better check on this. :mad2:

I talked to my dealer about the jacket after reading about it here first. He knew nothing about it and still doesn't. I just made sure he recorded the sale with L/M in a timely matter then it's all L/M after that - dealer is not involved.

Not bad all in all! I can rest easy this evening. Got the Belt Minder stopped AND got the jacket. A great day!

This is a beautiful jacket just as you all described. Very, Very nice. It's not for cold winter but for any kind of fall/spring weather. Here it is 46 degrees tonight and expected to be 68 degrees tomorrow followed by the 20s this weekend. This jacket feels perfect at 46 degrees.

Ah, off to bed.

Yea I got the card oh on about 2n'd week of december and bought the 2004 mm in 11-21-04, but still waiting for the jacket????? oh well, but what really counts is we got a marauder!!!!!!!

CODE WORD - I GOT MINE...Come on, some of us are new here. I bought my MM last October, still waiting for my jacket, and it sounds like it will be here soon! :) We newcomers have some enthusiasm for the stuff you guys experienced a while back. Why stomp on it with " we went over this in one of the some 50 jacket threads...". Give it a rest. We weren't here! I'm excited about it and apparently a lot of others are, too.
