Do any of you out there have a custom garage? I spend so much time in the garage that I think I am going to make it like another room in the house! I've seen some nice set ups before but haven't gotten to putting one together.

Got pics?

Hey Defyant,

I just remodeled my two car attached garage.I stripped several coats of paint off te floor with a powerwasher.I degreased and acid washed the concrete .I used an acrylic concrete adhesion fortified clear primer filled many holes and three coats of "color Plus" acrylic coating in dark red.I also painted the cinder block walls in a yellow and white checker pattern.I have a soft heated watersupply and outlets to vacume and polish.Last night is the first time ever My MM sat in the garage overnight. I am looking into a winter tire and wheel pkg. to be better prepared this year.December will be one year that I have owned (bought) the Marauder.

We just put up a three bay, 24 x 38 Morton Building. It's insulated, top & sides, with metal ceiling and painted wood panel inside walls. Once the electricity, flooring and shelves are added, it should be a very nice "deluxe shade tree". I'll post some pictures, later. If you've got the space, Morton Buildings make a nice product at a very competitive price. Very fast, professional construction to boot.

Defyant,
FWIW -- I hate to suggest this, but you really need to visit the high end car people. Ex. I have a C5 Corvette and you can get reallly good ideas by looking at some of the Corvette people's garages. Can aslo do the same with the Porsche folks' garages. You will get you best ROOM ideas from these people.
I am not putting Marauder folks down, but the Corvette and Porsche people fly in different circles than do most Ford car/truck people.

Yup....the garage on my century home collapsed sometime in the 60's and the barn no longer housed animals. Concrete was loosly poured over the stables, and now it's a garage.

You're right, a Corvette owner wouldn't be caught dead in a 625 sq. foot Amish built BARAGE.:P

martyo, et al,
I do appreciate the fact that MMers are REGULAR people, not a bit snobish and have to work for thier money. That's why I have 2 and I hang around with you all most of the time even though I do own a late model Corvette (2000 Coupe, Nassau Blue) and have a bunch of trophies for it.
I also appreciate the fact that most of us cannot afford to put $10K or more into a garage JUST TO MAKE IT LOOK LIKE A MUSEUM GARAGE!!!!! LOL!!! Most of us are just working stiffs that would like to fix up our garages are best we can and as CHEAP as we can BUT STILL MAKE THEM LOOK NICE!!!!! That is why I suggested visiting the Corvette and Porsche web sites for IDEAS -- that is all. No character defamation intented!!!!!
My sincerest apologies to all here who MAY HAVE gotten the wrong impression from my prev. post and felt slighted by my choices of words/phrasing. I may be educated, but I am far from rich. It was never my intention to put anyone down here.
Back to my original suggestion -- did anyone dare look at the rich people's garages??? Just for ideas!!

rumble,
With 2 Corvettes in that there garage, where is the lift for them? VERY NICE!!!!!
If you customize a garage, we owe it to ourselves to get a lift of some kind. Justa suggestion.

:bagpiper: Hey Gordon, no apologies necessary. Everyone understood what you're saying, and it never hurts to look at other folks' stuff to get ideas.

Now I'll tell you guys how to tell the difference between porcupines and Porsche owners. Porcupines have the PRICKS on the outside!

See you & Mrs. B, Saturday.

Overall, The lift would be the key item that makes a garage special. Plus It will make it easy to work on the Marauder as you get older and can't roll around on the floor so easy.
