As the "Car Guys" on NPR say, "The French copy noone and noone copies the French."

"The French copy noone and noone copies the French."

...and "no one builds uglier cars than the French"...

I remember the Citroen 2CV from back in the '70's on the Autobahn. I used to call them "Citruglies". Most of the time they were right lane obstructions since they could barely meet the 80 kph minimum. Add a hill and they were down to under 60 kph. On the positive side, I understand that you could change a tire without using a jack. :D

Hehehe. I drove one once. 1/4 mile could be timed with a calendar.

For those that don't know 2CV stands for "Deux Chevaux". Literally translated: "2 Horse Power".

Good video though!

Ugly cars for sure. That one resembles a Focus.

This one resembles a Suburu WRX:

The French respond:

"Your mother was a hampster, and your father smelt of elderberries! I fart in your general direction, you wiper of other people's bottoms!"

Ahh Citroen...geeze, real ugly cars. Does anyone else remember the little plastic, open bodied beach buggy (Jeep wanna be) vehicle that Citroen imported into U.S. briefly in the late 60's or early 70's called the Mahari?? There was a little hole-in-the-wall car dealership on NW 79th Street in Miami that sold them in a variety of nauseatingly bright colors, along with Citroen sedans, Peugeots, Renaults/LeCars, Fiats and Rovers (the back lot "used car" section of this place looked like a European auto scrap yard). I heard the place had previously been a Studabaker/Packard store. A few years later, after all the Euro cars were gone, the same lot was hawking Yugos. Poor guy... I'll bet he invested in an Edsel franchise at one time or another; probably negotiating for a Daihatsu store as we speak.

I don't forget much, but ambulance chasers and their cheap shot attempts to start @#$% are quite forgetable.

2CV...I'm wondering if you still have to mix the oil with the gas at the filling station.

Then you must be misinformed, because I know you wouldn't forget that our own lovable Martyo's practice does not involve personal injury cases.

I've been known to support bush, and I'm a Democrat.

Wsmylie: I remember seeing those Citroen Jeeps in Greece; the Greek Military would use them and were all military blue.

Also in Greece those sH__box 2cv cars (don't worry ppl laughed at them too there) couldn't sometimes make it up certain hills; they would roll back!

In Canada back in the 90's some company tried to sell the 2CV as an exotic car called the Escargot!

I do like 2 Citroens of the past though; the 70's/80's CX and the 80's/90's BX. Also the 70's SM is cool.

Something this ugly should only be used for hauling dynamite up to the mines.
