Hey Everybody, (sorry about the length, I tend to get worked up sometimes)
I’ve stopped by this site nearly every day since I first found it, and first I would like to thank everyone her for their advice and help with my Marauder. Especially Logan and LincMercLover who make the site possible.
But I have got to say a few things about the Marauder’s performance. I have read a lot of people’s comments about this car’s poor performance and clearly these are the people who just don’t get it. Of course there are faster cars out there then the Marauder; anyone who compares its quarter mile times against a two-door sports car weighing 1500 pounds less doesn’t understand physics. There is not a car out there that cannot be improved upon, even those who dump a ton of cash on a new Porsche need to dump thousands more if they want to compete with their piers.
I did not buy this car to dominate the local quarter mile; I bought it to dominate the highway. No mater how much power your car has, no mater what color you paint it, no matter who made it, no other car on the highway today will intimidate your average driver like the sight of a Marauder roaring up behind them in their rearview mirror.
This car and its relations (the Crown Vic, the Grand Marquis, and even the Caprice and Impala SS) are not sports cars they are the predators. Every person who owns a sports car be it a Camaro, Firebird, or Mustang looks over their shoulder for these cars, and the Marauder is the king of them all. They hunt in packs, and in the real world very few cars have ever outrun the Marauder’s cousins.
To quote a classic, “this may be the last of the V-8 interceptors.”

If you can believe it the tires in that video were Pirelli Asimmetricos, but it was cold out. I would be interested in seeing if they have some DOT approved street slicks cause there's nothing I want more than to see my tranny blown into a thousand pieces (but hey, then I got a new one)!!!

I need a lifetime supply of tires, especially after the guy from AutoWeek laid rubber (can you blame him?)

I have to confess, I looked at that clip about six times and was smiling each time. Reminds me of the fun I had when I had back in high school!

I thinks that why I like this car and this site again. Can you say almost mid-life crisis?

When's the car coming to New York??

I've said it before and I'll say it again (ya I know trite) whether you add a pine air freshner or a stroker motor, enjoy your toy while you drive yourself and four of your clsoest friends around town... gotta love the four doors

Actually the 4.10 gears are almost in (the appointment is next Tuesday) the company I found is a company called Proven Force in Little Canada, they only do gearing work. (but I got the gears from Reinhart) I found them through the insurance company I work for and they were recommended by three diferent companies I spoke to. I'll try to let you know how it goes.
Proven Force 651 486 4888 I spoke to Kurt.

Well said, Brian :)

However, I take one small exception about not dominating the 1/4 mile. We'll find out Sunday, when I and my Impala buddies hit Bradenton Raceway for the Viper/Vette/ImpalaSS shootout, and see how Vipers and Vettes taste for lunch..............:D

I can't agree more with you Brian.

Good luck with the 4.10s. I am taking my baby to a new dealer tomorrow for an oil change and plan to chat with the service manager a bit about mods. Hopefully they will be more supportive as they are an SVT dealer too.

Webster Dictionary's definition of a Marauder, which has a few meanings include, One who raids in search of plunder, a bandit, despoiler, a forager,a freebooter, a raider, and the one I think applies to our cars is a ravager, as in maybe blowing away the competition. However it applies it means BAD ASS!!!! :flamer:
