It's nice but I'd have to disagree with you on the best perfomance car Ford made. :)

Yes!

Especially the NASCAR 429 engine.

Like I said, I was thinking old school, not the 70's.

I guess the 70's are 'mid-school' ...?

Best Regards,

David

Boss engines were available in '69 & '70 Mustangs. Only 500 per year had to be produced to meet NASCAR requirements. And they had to be available to the general public.

I'm wondering if that Galaxie is a clone. It would make a great start for restoration. As I remember, the "Lightweights" had aluminum interior door skins and also the clock and radio delete option with block offs in the dash. Of course, over the years a lot of things could be added or removed.

The 500's real not a clone, has had some changes like the hood for one but most have had a change or two mostly for the better if used at all.

There is a guy in the Baltimore area with a 427 Galaxie lightweight and he has the same red door panels without the arm rests....just the embossed area where they should go.
