My wife just got back from grocery shopping and handed me this part. She says the doorman who unloaded the groceries thinks it came off the trunk somewhere. Does anyone know exactly where this thing is supposed to go??

Excuse the blurry photo; of course, the quarter is there for relative size)

Open the trunk.

About 18" above each hinge on the outside of each side of the inside of the trunk lid there is a hole. Each side should have one of these pieces in it.

I just checked my trunk...looks identical...and one of mine was loose.

I concur. They are used as trunk bumpers and the thread allows for adjustment of the of the trunk lid.

It goes in your bung. Ask your wife to place it there. I am sure she will be happy to do so.

Doesn't this seal the carburator on a bong?

I have that on my MM. It closes off the bypass to the warp core.

:D Have you all gone bonkers?

It's clearly a "QUARTER".

Oh, did you mean the "black trunk bumper/stopper" next to the quarter?

That screws itself into a hole(at each corner of the trunk) to adjust the trunk gap when the trunk lid is closed.

My bad........................... .............................. ..........................Tim.

i just went to replace it..... seems I am missing the one on the other side. Anyone know a part number for this item?

Are you going to replace it with an OEM part when there are high performance replacements available? This was my first mod. Great bang for the buck.

. . . the doorman who unloaded the groceries thinks it came off the trunk somewhere. . .

I'd be having a few words(not too harsh) with the "doorman". He needs to be a bit more careful around the coolest car he'll ever take groceries out of.

Is that the one near the aft starboard injectors or the main power coupling?

They really need some sort of adhesive. One of mine fell out the other day, fortunately I found it laying on the bumper cover in the corner of the taillight. Probably lucky the doorman spotted it.

I'll be sure to let my doorman know that he should be on the lookout for those bumpers the next time he is unloading cases of Grey Poupon out of my MM.

I noticed the other day that I'm one short on those trunk lid bumpers. Wonder if The Dealer can get us these for replacements?

It's the one near the main power coupling. If you overclock the dilithium induction fuser coil, you can hit warp 13 in the quarter mile.

What a coincidence. I went out to get something from the trunk tonight after reading you post last nigt and damned if my left one didn't pop off and bounce happily across the garage.

It's the one near the main power coupling. If you overclock the dilithium induction fuser coil, you can hit warp 13 in the quarter mile.Don't listen to this idiot! There's one of these quantum directional spin inducers for each warp plasma injector, two port and two starboard. This one happens to be starboard because of the right-hand thread and I suppose it's the aft one since it was found after the aft access compartment was opened. ckadiddle is obvoiusly a starfleet wanna-be.

An instinctual guess hitchhiker, the "aft starboard injector", but I suppose you must've flunked out of Starfleet Academy to have confused this easily identifiable part with what I suppose you thought was a main power coupling maintenance insulator, which is a tool that wouldn't have been left on the car in the first place because they cost 50 credits and is more like the size of a dime. ckadiddle must've gotten his hands on a maintenance manual at one time, but it's clear both of you guys don't have any hands-on experience.

Listen to the Association of Starfleet Engineers Master Certified technician. Get it back in place and adjusted so the aft nacelles are even and flush with the compartment access panel. The possibility is remote, but you could encounter a worm hole while entering warp under cetain conditions if they off as much as 10 microns. J-tool makes a jig/guage for 5 credits.

Rookies!

Looks like I better verify mine are still in place. . .

No offense Dr. Morton, but I think you are wrong. But what do I know, I am a pervert not a mechanic.
