Does any have pics of a maruader with a dead pedal? I went to the Kenny brown web site and couldnt find them or Price? I went to weather tech for vent visors for mine ( I figured they should fit my MM) but all i got was the run around. I refuse to use the tape on ones. Theirs fit into the window modling and look great. If any one has used them and just ordered for a reg Grand Marquis let me know? They have a good product just not maybe not the right people answering the questions.
Opps I bought a pair for MY 98 LSC mark 8. That how I know. Thanks any info. Patrick:help:

Do a search on the forum, there are a few pictures of the dead pedal posted. There is nothing at Kenny Brown's website, you have to call. I put mine on and have 3 issues with it.
1. It appears to tilt too far out from the kick panel at the top, making the ribs in the pedal pad misaligned with the ribs of the oem pedals. I took care of this by removing and bending the bracket slightly.
2. The bracket caused my hood release to tilt instead of align evenly with the recess in the kick panel. I took care of this by putting a couple of washers between the hood release mounting tab and the dead pedal bracket.
3. It's too far from the floor. I'll be removing the bracket again and drilling 2 more moungint holes, then attaching nuts on the backside of the bracket to move the dead pedal about 1" to 1-1/2" closer to the floor. To cover the 2 extra holes in the kick panel I'll get a couple of the press-in attaching plugs for interior panels.
Overall I like it. It's sturdy and well-built and looks nice.

One of the reasons I'm hesatant about the dead peddle, is at 6'3" with size 15 shoes, I hit the break pedal as it is getting in. There isn't alot of room for my gunboats as it is, and to restrict it more...

I'm 6'1" with 10 EEEE's so I can't give you an accurate comparison. If you're comfortable without any support there, skip it. I like a foot-rest especially when doing some spirited driving in the twisties. It keeps me from getting slung around in the seat. If I were shorter and jacked the power pedals up instead of having them all the way down to the floor the standard position would be ok. But, I keep the pedals all the way down and the dead pedal lines up more with the brake pedal than the gas pedal which kind of throws me off to one side.

I think just a lift on the floor it'self, like my wifes PT has would be great. Just a place to put the foot so it's not rubbing the carpet bare in that spot.

Patrick, the MM doors are not different from GMs or CV/CVPI. One size visor fits all. Can't help you on the dead pedal, have you tried a search from the home page? I'm sure I saw some pics somewhere...

Ya just gotta call.

Pat:
I have the "tape-on" VentVisors from the AutoVentShade Co...and they work fine...they were put on in Oct. and it was bitter cold here for about a month until just a couple of weeks ago...now it's warmed up to the high 20s-low 30s...plus I've been through 2 different car washes that use the cloth strips (as opposed to the rotating brushes) and they're still on the car. As long as you prep the surface correctly and have the car warm enough when they're installed, they should be fine.
I've never had them before, so I don't know if they'll last a year, or 5 years, but so far so good...

Thanks everyone. I think I might put off the dead pedal isssue for a bit. But I had the window visors for my mark 8 and the we still on yrs later. No glu strips nutin. Slide them inside the window moldings and your done. about 30 sec and your done. If they will fit a GM should be no issue in the MM. Another thing abou the dead pedal I', 5 10, 160. So I thought it would be worth it. Any way since I am going to the MM for quite awhile I have time. I have owned 1 cougar, t- bird, and 2 mark 8s. So a car this size is going take sumtime getting used to. Thank you all for help!!! Pattrick

RF - Do they increase or decrease wind noise?

Mass, brother:
I didn't have the car without them for very long, so I can't really say...if I had to choose, I seem to think they made no difference one way or the other, noise-wise.
On my work truck, they seem to make a little more noise, but cut way down on the wind buffeting when the window is open only a few inches...they make no difference when the window's down.

Hey, I don't see the 4.10s in your sig yet. Still looking?

Dead Pedal Mod done.
Removed dead pedal and bracket, drilled 2 new holes in bracket about 1-1/2" closer to the floor, welded mounting nuts on the back of the bracket and re-installed. It feels just as sturdy and is much more comfortable.
is one directly on the floor, in that corner that has a flat spot. I'm concerned that the size 13s won't fit on the KB one.
Anybody done this yet. I rented a new Explorer last week that had this. Thinking I'll see if I can land one of those.
Thoughts?

Fordnut: How tall did you say you were?

I'm 6'1" tall. The repositioned dead pedal now lines up closer to the accelerator pedal (which is where my other foot is normally at) instead of the brake pedal.
