2005 Saleen Mustang (pics)

Team Ford got their first shipments of these...all have sold and only this white one was around for me to take pics. Price = $44K and that is NOT supercharged! It looks pretty good, but for that price? I'll pass....
I do like how it looks like they nixed the idea of the big wing on the rear that we'd seen in earlier pics. More pics in the Gallery...

Gimme a break! 44K for an appearance package? For that price I would expect some power increase. I like the look and am very interested in these cars. I'll give you 35K for it. haha.

If you go to saleen.com you can see all the specs. They quote a base price of $38,000, and $45,000 for the s/c version. :eek:

Aric was doing a dyno check of a 2005GT the other day when I was there, baseline RWHP was 268, don't remember the torque but it was about same as a chipped Marauder. I didn't stay for any tuning, don't know if he tried to better the stock tune or was just getting a baseline for future use. The vehicle was a Team Ford Stock item. Sure does look and sit good compared to older Mustangs. Larger folks could enjoy this vehicle.

The Team Ford Dyno Sheet which is on the windshield said 285 RWHP & 300 RWTQ...Todd it looks like the 5 speed delivers about 87.5% of the advertised power to the wheels, so the car as is should run low 13's maybe high 12's quarter mile... not bad..except for the price. :D

Anyone seen a new Stang in Windveil Blue? It sure looks good in the pics. I sure hope this pony sells well but I wish they would just tidy up the rear end a bit, either way a test drive may just be in order this weekend.

I just went to the Saleen dealer in the New Orleans area to lok at the N/As. They wanted 44k and expected the S/C version to be about 50k. One of the recent mustang mags stated that the N/A version put out about 135-145 (can't remember exactly. They also had an '04 - S/C model for 39k.

I agree. Hell, just buy an 05 GT. I'll bet Cervini's will have a nice body kit soon! ..if they don't already!
