After being "Presented" with my New Marauder, I thought that my "Best Weekend" of the Year had come and gone, that is until I talked to Dennis this Morning. Not only has he figured out a way for me to get the Performance Package that I wanted, he's located a very capable Performance Shop that appears available to Install it!

But here's the coolest part - The Shop is within 20 minutes from my home, less than half as far as my Selling / Servicing Dealer!

But wait - it gets Better.......Dennis is driving to Indy to take part in a Performance Conferance for the Weekend, and has agreed to meet me at one of his Performance Shops located in Noblesville (just North of Indy), handle the initial introductions for me with the Shop, and arrange for the Installation of his Performance Package, so we're off to the Races!

My Certified Check to "Reinhart Automotive" is already made out, and - Logan - get this - in the "Memo Section" - the Description reads: "Logan's Performance Upgrade Package". :D :p :D

Saturday could be the First Day of the Rest of My Life, Dudes / Dudettes!

PS. Mabye Dennis is not such a bad man as my first impression was!

My experience is that you can catch anyone in a Bad Mood Sometime, and when you're as innovative as Dennis is, and on the Leading Edge of an emotionaly-driven Industry like this one can be, you can slowly develop a "Short Fuse" when too many people want your innovation, but want you to give it away for cost, or less.

But this is "AMERICA" - Land of the Best Entepreneurs in the World, and also some of the Sharpest Buyers around. We're still just a "Big Melting Pot" - just like we started! :p

I've purchased what I like to fondly refer to as "LOGAN'S PACKAGE":
Engine Chip; Cooler Plugs and Thermstat; Matrix Drive Shaft; 4.0 Rear Axle; and MOTORCRAFT'S fULL SYNTHETICS for the Engine, Transmission, and Rear Axle. Dennis has been a real Gentleman to deal with so far on the phone, and I've cut a Check close to $1,000.00 Sight Unseen, just on telephone conversations with the man, and his very intelligent and straight-talking Posts herein. He knows what he's talking about, and he seems like the kind of guy that you can give your wallet to and have him build you the Upgrade Package, and when he hands back your wallet, there's a lot more money that he left you with than you expected, yet you've ended up with a Savings and Value, that you're both very Proud of. I'm looking forward to meeting him in person tomorrow, and shaking his hand. He sure does try to go the extra mile with you, as long a you don't make him feel that your "Jack'n " with him.

If you want to run with the Big Dogs, you've got to Bite the Bullet! Dennis already knows this, so he's made them small calibre.

  :p ;)

you're absolutely right! the thing that threw me for a loop when I first heard about Dennis and saw his posts on the Crown Vic boards, even from talking to him on the Instang Messanger I, for one reason or another, saw in him the same type of hype that happened once before with another person that purchased Jerry's program and screwed a lot of people with it while damaging Jerry's name. I was afraid that this fiasco was going to repeat but Jerry has proven to be a gentleman and is continuing to make progress in a field where no one else would go (like these other tuners that were making promises and this and that and in the end NOTHING) So seeing how things turned out not what they first appeared to be I'm going to e-mail Dennis and appologize for being a dork before...

hehe, Good Luck with your meeting and Enjoy all the mods! POST pictures when you're done bro!!!

Bill,

You'll be happy with the stuff. I got the driveshaft yesterday, it's an excellent unit. It's getting installed this afternoon.

I don't know that it can be called the "Logan" package... I just happen to have all his stuff on my car. :)

I'm waiting patiently for someone, anyone to come up with a cold air system for the Marauder. THAT would make me happy.

its not necessarily a Marauder system per se, however ADR a small company in So. Cali developed a CAI for the late model Crown Vic (I think it uses 80mm MAF so its similar to the Marauder's), last I heard they were still testing it, but a few of my friends have already ordered it.

if you guys need more info I'll get you their digits, or just look on any of the Vic boards.

Marauder's intake is unique to the marauder. It needs a reversed Cobra setup to work... You could bolt up a cone filter to the MAF no problem, but that doesn't get rid of the silencer in the maf--> throttle body boot.

I do realize that Logan, I guess what I was trying to say is since they got the ball rolling on intake pipes (replacing the restrictive boot) they could come up with a Marauder piece in little time if there's someone localy that would allow measurements to be taken of their Marauder. Or something along those lines. I don't know if Dennis is working on an intake solution but since these ADR guys already are, maybe you guys should get in touch with them, those that are interested.

this is what the custom pipe looks like on a 98 Crown Victoria:

I'm also having one custom made for me down in Georgia... however since I would like to run an 80mm MAF on mine (eventualy) I'll get the $150 or so buck Marauder air box which comes complete with Marauder only filter, and 80mm Marauder MAF sensor... pretty cool... the whole project would be under $300 bux.... as for extra piping from the bumper to the box, well I'm not too sure what I will personaly do for that, my biggest fear is NJ rain falls, when we get it, we get plenty of water, and I don't wanna create a pipe that would gush water straight to the inbox.

That's exactly what's needed, just fitted to a oval bore TB instead, and an enclosure for the air filter to stop heated engine air from getting in there...

What's that big block, looks like an aluminum block, just forward of the mass air flow sensor? Is it just an adapter plate to get the conical filter assembly on?

JerseyVics

I think Chris mounted two bolts to that so that he can tighten that assembly up from the bottom with a nut and it basically acts as the air box mounts, as you can probably see he used the same holes where the air box mount bolts go.

the reason its so large is probably for stabillity, I had an air box crack on one of my 1996's because one of the bolts broke off (the famous rubber part ripped off) and left the air box loose.

Ah, makes sense. Thanks.

Man, I'd love a nice aftermarket air intake tube like that for the Marauder. That's gotta cut a lot of restriction.

Speaking of which, are there any FAQs or pictures around anywhere detailing how to remove the silencers or baffles or whatever from the MAF?

LG - I agree, so how about me referring to it as: "The Reinhart Automotive Performance Package"! :p

Got a Nice After-Market "ring" to it, don't you think?

Dennis indicated that the Air Flow Problem is the next Project that he's trying to solve for us, and as all us realize by now - it's Really Needed!

Tomorrow, Tomorrow, it's off to the WIZARD I go!

Meeting Dennis for the first time, my impression was: Here's a guy that Loves Automobiles, and really knows what he's talking about! His Business Card doesn't show it, but it would Not suprise me to learn that his Middle Initial could be "L", which Could stand for "LEXUS" - The Passionate Pursuit of Perfection", when it comes to enhancing the Powertrains of these 'Blue Oval Toys', and enabling them to be ALL that they can be!

Dennis had arranged to help set up and take part in a Mustang Performance Work Shop, with his Performance Shop Associate - Mr. Brent Hiday - who owns and operates AUTOMOTIVE SPECIALISTS, in Noblesville, Indiana. (It's the County Seat of Hamilton County, just North of Indy. Hamilton County is now close to 200,000 in population.)There were more High-Powered Mustang Coupes and Convertibles parked all around Brent's Performance Shop that Shopping Carts at Walmart!

Dennis had trucked up his "Prize" Mustang Convert (Silver / Black), with all of the Performance Enhancements installed. His innovation knows No Bounderies. His Fresh Air Intake Module fits out of sight under the Right Front Wheel Housing where the ambient air is Zillions of degrees cooler than in the Engine compartment. Apparently it's tucked neatly up out of harm's way, and protected from Wheel Splash / Spatter from those times when you're driving through Heavy Rain / Snow.

Dennis is one of those guys who everyone's just a friend he hasn't met yet, and if he was ever to run for Public Office, he'd be re-elected forever! First to come outside and greet me, he gave me a "Skope Report" on Brent's operation, and indicated that I would be in good hands to have his Performance Shop handle the Up-Grades. Told me not to worry about prepaying for any of the work, that my word and his 'Blessing' were more than good enough for Brent. He then proceeded to introduce me to Brent, and another one of their Associates who was their "Chip Wizzard", and "works very close with the people at FORD". Introductions made, Certified Check given to Dennis, Agreement made over a handshake with Brent to handle all of the Install which Dennis would ship out this week, he invited me over to see his 4,000 Mile Mustang. Not to be outdone, I handed him my Car Keys to the 'Rauder, and told him to check it out. He came back with a Big Smile on his face and said: "Boy, can we make that Puppy Well!"

Dennis is in line to place his Order for a Blue one from the Jacksonville Dealer as soon as they can be accepted, but had apparently never driven one. I hoped, as he took off, that he'd call me when he crossed back into Florida, but he came back a short time later. I had left Celene Dion's CD playing the "Theme Song" of Marauder ("Seduce Me") in the car when he jumped in, and it seemed to work for him.

Dennis was Very Happy to learn of Logan's satisfaction following his install yesterday of the Matrix Drive Shaft, and promised to ship it and the rest of my "Logan's Package" to the Installer by the end of the Week. Looks like I'll be having my "Christmas" in August, rather than December! :p

As for Dennis, Paul Newman described him well, when he made the statement in his latest Movie "Road To Perdition":

"Men Of Honor Always Keep Their Word, And Pay Their Debts."

Dennis strikes me as that kind of a guy. I hope to sell a Lot of "Packages" for him in the future from demos with my car, and am likely to have my replacement Marauder delivered out of his Jacksonville Dealer, so that he can do the "Up grades" at his own Performance Center in Orange Park, Florida, on my way South to Sarasota, for the Chrismas Holidays.
