In my quest for my MM I am slowly planning my mods list. First is some exhaust and then we go from there. I was wondering if anyone has ever removed the stock seats and put in some aftermarket seats? Some Recaro's or Corbeau's (sp) might make the inside stand out from the crowd just a little bit more then they already do. Plus I have seen where some people mention how the seats arent the best for side bolstering and people tend to slide around when some spirited driving happens. So let me know what you think and if someone has swapped please post some pics. Thanks in advance.

My seats are one of my most favorite parts of the car, they are very comfortable for me. It took me about 4,500 miles to get the right position (anyone else like this?) but now they are great. If anything I'd wish they had made a telescopic steering wheel. I don't drive hard very often, and when I do I'm not disapointed. I guess if I had a little more fun in the turns I might be interested in other seats, but for now, nadda. I am interested in what others will say in this thread so I'll be tuned...

I thought about that too Kris. I like to turn pretty hard,.. but the door or center console usually stop me! :P
Main problem though is the air bags in the seats. I dont want to get rid of those. I guess I'll just deal with it, unless Recaro comes up with 6 way adjustable seat with side air bags!

DITTO TOM...I've got a skinny butt and have thought about aftermarket seats to keep me from sliding around BUT I'm not going to lose those side air bags.

I did have the seats out of my Marauder.
I tried a set of Recaro's but they sat too low?
Funny because I am 6'6" tall:confused:
I did not want to build a platform on the floor and loose the power options:mad:
So I left them alone:)
I started this because I have no headroom? Yes I have removed the sunvisor, helps a little:) ( I do fit very well in the seats)
Good luck.

I had originally thought of replacing the seats. I am not a big person but after awhile and tinkering with seat settings, I find them just fine. And no other seat is better for a long cruise!!!

wow,... too low? For you?
I guess I better not mess with the seats. I'm only 5'5",.. I prob'ly wouldn't be able to see out the windows! :P
Patrick has a good point about the seat being comfortable on the long drives,.. kinda like driving a leather couch!

Interesting, Kris. I bought the car BECAUSE of the seats, and, um, other stuff. Notice, though, it's us big guys who seem to like 'em best. (BDJ, for instance) I guess,"one size fits all", doesn't apply to guys with skinny butts. I sat in a GM, and a CV Sport, and couldn't understand how a big car could be so uncomfortable. It's unusual that I find anything that suits me just fine. This one's a "keeper".:dunno:

Good comments Mike!, I can relate to the fit @ 6'7" our choices for comfort are limited!;) I still have not removed the pin in the rear of the seat track to gain additional leg room.I'm almost afraid to, cause If I like it too much, their will be very little incentive to want to sit behind me!~

:P As above...nothing like riding around in a big leather chair and still have the ability to move forward at a rapid rate! One of the reasons I bought this car was because of the seats. When I move from this car to the wife's Maxima (which is no small car) I feel kind of hemmed in. Can't wait to get back to the "Big Chair".

When Car&Driver road tested the Marauder in '02 the one thing they really, really liked were the seats:up: Said they were the "best" seats FoMoCo EVER came up with in a production car:)
