Test Vehicle: BradleyG's Marauder
Proving Grounds: Dynopro Automotive's Dynojet
Before you skip ahead to the dyno sheet I would just like to thank BradleyG and CJ @ Dynopro for their kindness and time to put fourth this project. I've never met two people so friendly and open on the first hand shake - so either my other friends suck or these are two very nice guys. After getting lost I finally met up with them in the middle of their tuning session and snapped some pics for BradleyG.
Here are tonight's Dynojet Results:
http://www.midwestvics.org/bradleyg/dynoresults.jpg
Showing a peak gain of 10.5 HP and a much better powerband consistency, both Brad and I were impressed with the dollar to HP ratio. Brad will post his comments tonight when he comes on.
Here are a few pictures I snapped of the testing:

I don't recall how many runs we did, all I know is you hear the Marauder growl like no other, just makes your heart pump out of your chest. Thanks again Brad & CJ :burnout:

Hey all!
A huge thanks goes out to all that helped make this possible!First Big thanks to Jay Tucker who donated his Ram Air kit for third party testing! You rock Dude! and so does this Kit!I would like to second what Jason said about the warm welcome we both recieved at Dyno-Pro!And if anybody is interested CJ has a very nice (Huge)facility to do tunes and mods.Order sils & pedals thier Bling Bling!!Thanks to you CJ for your expertice and patience and explaining tons of stuff!I hope you like it around here so you will be around for a while! The Kit nothing short of stellar:bang for the buck was the best mod so far!I know some are thinking "whats a lousy ten horses"?All I can tell you is do a 60 mph stomp and then you will see what I mean:rock: And to Jason you cracked me up with that comment about you having "Rich friends" No offence meant dude, but have you noticed ?You are very lucky yourself! Thanks for posting the results from the dyno pulls,And taking photos and all the laughs! Now I feel like putting the stock tires back on and toasting them in memorial of the first pull.:burnout:
Thanks for listening!

Nice pics...and it looks like the results we expected.
I'd have liked to see an extra torque number or two...but still very nice!

Bradley,
I also installed the JLT kit, and am very happy with it. I noticed after a few weeks I seemed to be running a bit rich, and after investigating a thread here, saw a few others who had installed mods to their stock MAFs having the same issue. So, I went in to Team Ford here and Aric put my MM on the dyno. Sure enough, I was having some rich issues in the 2000 to 3000 rpm range. He adjusted my A/F ratios throughout the bands, and I picked up a few more horses and torque. My question, then, is did you do any tuning adjustments after the install? If not, you may consider it. Do a search for O2 sensor and you'll find the thread I'm talking about. I can most definitely feel the difference SOTP, and dyno'd I got gains by retuning. Happy Driving!

Hey guys-
I just want to say it was a pleasure meeting both Bradley and Jason today.
I meet dozens of people a day, but it's always awesome to meet really friendly and cool people in the local and surrounding areas.
Great work Jason on getting the graph and pictures up so quickly.
I was impressed with the quality and easy of the install of the JLT Intake.
Both the peak numbers and the power under the curve are impressive for a simply bolt on mod.
For comparison sake, we did not do any tuning between run, or after the install of the intake. As you can see in the graph, Bradley's car will benefit from a tune and make even better power. We wanted to show it as a simple bolt on, and what it would yield.
Approx. 325 HP at the crank for a basically stock Marauder with an intake isn't too bad!
Look forward to seeing you guys again soon. Next time we are heading to Kesely's road house after for some wings and drinks.
Thans again guys..

What is the the before and after A/F ratio ?
CJ@DynoProInc
01-15-2005, 10:46 AM
Bradley's Air Fuel ratio with the stock intake was around 13.1/1.
After the intake install it was 13.8/1.
Bradley's car with make even better power when fully dyno tuned and we adjust his timing, A/F mixure, etc etc.

Very nice! Now my turn.
Thanks to you Brad and everyone at Dyno Pro for doing the test.
You always worry when you put your product in someone elses hands for a independent test, but I see there was no need for worries here.
So all in all form JLT you can expect at least 10 RWHP and even more RWTQ for $120. Not bad. :banana2:
These are also avaliable in other colors for $15 more. :D
From "the other kit" you get 5 RWHP for $250+ here's the thread: http://http://www.mercurymarauder.net/forums/showthread.php?t=14133&highlight=K%26N+test
Brad or CJ can you email me the graphs to put up on the JLT web site?
I will extend this offer to a S/C guy. If you have a roots style blower and would like to test the JLT before and after in a even and fair test, contact me.
Thanks again to all!!!!

I think I already did this:

22 rwt

The way I read this dyno graph, is that the baseline pull (#3) measured 249.6 RWHP and 264.6 RWTQ, and the best of the JLT pulls (#6) achieved 260.1 RWHP and 263.9 RWHP. These are the SAE adjusted numbers. Though the RWTQ went down slightly, it's still quite impressive performance from a inexpensive bolt on mod.
At the point where Bradley's MM begins to dip, approximately 5300 RPMs, CJ has pointed out the numbers again and we see that baseline numbers dipped to 236.8 RWHP and 232.7 RWTQ. With the JLT installed, they dipped only to 246.3 RWHP and 242.0 RWTQ. Once again, impressive performance from JLT.

One thing to remember is though peak #'s are nice to hear and look at, it's the major gains through out the curve that make it worth it. Looks like 8-10 RWTQ avarage above 5000.
If your peak #'s are the same (for example) but the gains through out were 8-10 then it's a gainer all the way. :D

Just my $.02. I am doing my JLT in two stages. First I have installed the JLT tube and rubber mountings onto the MAF and TB using the stock air box and removed the OEM plastic ribbed air tube with the infamous "J-Tube" thingy. Quite honestly, I like the increased SOTP performance with this half way set-up and I do not have to deal with any increased sound. I have no increase in noise at all. Yes, my MM is already plenty loud with the Cobra headers, Cobra X-pipe and OEM mufflers (+15 HP). The OEM mufflers are very good and flow nicely with a deep growl. When I go to the April FFW I may remove the left headlight and have a real RAI through the stock air box. The smooth JLT air tube is a definite power gainer even at this half-way point.

Could someone who has the DYNORUN.xxx files export the data from WinPEP, to post the incremental increases throughout the RPM range? It looks pretty solid 10HP/TQ from 5000rpm up :2thumbs:
