"Conceived from the outset to be original and flamboyant, these avant-garde doors are unique in the field of motoring. A geared rotational pivot operates simultaneously with a parallel arm, in an outward arc. Balanced by gas struts the doors lift easily to allow entry, their refined ‘flying punch’ movement setting the stage. The doors require minimal area around them and above the vehicle, giving complete freedom of access to the car in confined areas."

Used on the Koenigsegg CCR...the baddest thing ever. I'm not sure if it uses a 4.6L Supercharged Ford engine or something else...but it's bad as hell.
0-60: 3.0
1/4: 9
Lateral-G: Loads.

Ok, well I thought they were the coolest doors ever.
Think about it, you never park beside a two door, especially Thunderbirds because the doors are so long. When you DRIVE a car like that they're harder to get out of in tight spaces. Not that you'd ever park a car like this at your grocery store, but it does help in your garage or such, eh?

Of course you know, James, I'd clean those suckers off my car the first time I backed into the garage.
Also, one wonders if they got the idea from Charlie's self-adjusting driver door on his '72 Monte.:thinker:
