Just wanted to let all Marauder fans know that there's a full feature on Navchap's MM in the March '05 edition of Super Rod Magazine. If you want to look for it, it's got a black '60 Corvette on the cover and the main blurb is "Who's Bad?" If you want to check it out, Barnes and Noble, Borders, Wal-Mart and various supermarkets are probably your best bet. Thanks for permitting the shameless plug,

Thanks for your kind words and sentiments. Will is a really enthusiastic supporter of MM net, and it's nice for us to have a friend in the automotive press. Lots of folks made this possible, Steve Babcock, Logan, Dennis Reinhart, and many others. Too bad the MM never really got a chance. The story needed to be told. I have not seen the finished product yet but have complete confidence in Will and Buckaroo. If folks can't find Super Rod for March 2005, don't worry, I'm buying lots of copies. -kjs-

Thank you, and I'm glad to see it's hit the newsstands already. Even though I don't own a Marauder, I've been a fan of the car since its debut, and getting one in print is doubly satisfying when it belongs to such a kind and friendly guy as Navchap.

Copies of March 2005 Super Rod and tear sheets of the article came in the mail today. Thanks Mercutio! What a nice job Will and the crew at Buckaroo did with this story.
How amazing to see your own car in your favorite car magazine, no joke. Super Rod is sold in the military exchanges in Okinawa. It was a great morale builder.
Especially while driving on the wrong side of the road from what is usually the passenger's side of the car, over in the land of the rising sun.
This is a really great opportunity to tell the story of a car that didn't get a fair chance. The car and this site are presented in a very positive light.
Trying to get in touch with Buckaroo next week to buy a bundle of this issue to have handy for family and friends.
We even get a mention on the cover, wow. Too much fun for one person to take, so my brother Brian, who took the trip to Indy with me after he flew from Florida to San Diego, had to hear the whole story long distance.
I thanked many folks in the data sheet I sent to Buckaroo, and at some point in the next week or so I'll post the highlights of the unpublished info in this thread.
Thanks everyone, you can be proud of how this article turned out, and it's actually pretty funny, but I don't want to spoil it for y'all.
All the best, -kjs-

Blue: They are Toyos, Logan was telling me at Indy that they are from a Lightning application. Jefferson got them for me at an incredible price through his position as Parts Mgr at a local Ford store in San Diego.
They are designed for bad weather and good grip. They do the job. My brother took us through Colorado on the I-70. Altitude got up over 10k ft. We were in a heavy rainstorm.
On our way East to meet up with Mr & Mrs Teamrope and 4th Horseman in Denver, Brian maintained a steady 45-55 mph on the winding stretch where the speed limit is mostly 50-55. We had no problems.
The tires get a lot of compliments, particularly with the widened rear wheels, folks are surprised to see a panther platform running tires that are almost 10" wide out back. -kjs-

Hey Commander! Nice article, went out and bought the mag last night, pretty decent. Not too often you see a car with base stickers in a hot rod magazine, much less one with a white cross. I was unaware Dennis was prior Navy, wonder what he did while he was in? Oh, and a certain Career Counselor said to say "HEY!" and that you were the coolest Chaplain ever.
