'04 engine/tranny

I have a friend (let's call him Luckwheat) who's blown the engine in an '03 Marauder that used to owned by another friend (let's call him Gogan). He's secured a sweet deal on an '04 engine/tranny combo. The deal includes the '04 ECM. I told him he'll need new keys for the car now because of the PATS. Am I right or full of :bs: ????

Tell him to keep the 03 PCM, and his keys.
Also, that trans has already been bullet proofed, so leave that one in there.
(Unless he wants to sell it to me)
The only thing you will have to do is take the extra knock sensor harness off the 04 motor and replace it with the one from the 03 motor.
The swap will be smooth as glass if you follow this advice.
If he insists on using the 04 trans, a few values in the software need to be changed, the # of output shaft sensor holes, and internal gear ratios.

Gogan here... Yes, forget the 04 PCM, keep that aside, along with the tranny, there's ALOT of money in that tranny in the car, believe me, it'll never blow up. But that being said, having a spare is always a good thing.

Follow Zack's advice, stick the 04 motor in, swap the knock sensors, and away you go. Chroming the valve covers would be a good idea and for god sake's, no more overrevving my baby!!! ;)
