Does anybody have a stock exhaust system with just the Meg's delete tips? How does it sound? Any cabin drone at highway speeds? Did you weld 'em up in the stock location or move 'em out a bit? Any and all input is welcome...

I do.
1) It sounds wonderful. I initially was afraid that I wouldn't notice any difference at all or that it would be so subtle that it wouldn't be worth the cost and effort. Wrong. I wouldn't say that it makes the exhaust sound louder so much as it changes the exhaust note to a little deeper tone, if that makes any sense.

2) Absolutely none. Zero.

3) They were welded on so that the finished tip is one and 3/4 inch farther out than the stock location.

No performance difference but the sound and looks departments both benefit greatly. I'd do it again in a heartbeat. Got mine from Wes Chain. :coolman:

Haggis has a set that he flanged along with the stock set that he also flanged so whenever he wants to change then it's just 6 bolts .just an idea... :D

Haggis posted a great thread about his first class setup, along with pictures. The quick change feature was a great idea, since there's more noise than folks like, especially on long trips. Here's the thread: Go for it!:D

I copied Valleyman to the letter and they look and sound great. Real throaty sounding and really sound-out at WOT, but not too over the top around the neighborhood. I know some folks like to be heard from a mile away, but I'm not one of them, although I do appreciate a healthy sounding rumble when I step on it! I was lucky and found a great exhaust guy who installed them quickly and neatly with new hangars, and I had the tips stick out the rear about 2", just enough to see the "Megs" on each tip.

Regards,

Norm

I just saw this thread.... I had my Meg's resonator delete tips before my Trilogy and it sounded great. I too was worried that it may be too loud at highway speeds but this was a worry not needed. Like I said in a previous post, it seemed to me like merely turning up the exhaust a notch or 2 on the radio... that's all. It's really not disturbing at all, (from the inside of the vehicle) but it sounds better I think. But keep in mind that I extended my tips 2 1/2" inches past the rear bumper, (which could help cut down on the noise as well).
Attached are pics of my resonator deleted tips... hope this helps.

IMO all Marauders sound good while being flogged. What I'm looking for is a nice rumble @ idle not that crappy drowning, burbling, or gargling noise that mine makes. And no I've never driven it into any lakes.

Thanks for info guys! Dave-thanks for the pics, I was looking for a pics exactly like what you posted. I want the car to be quiet, but just a little more sound. The delete tips may be just what I need. But, I still can't the sound of Cobra25's car out of my head! Decisions, Decisions...:hmmm:
