What is the wheel backspacing on a 2001 LX HPP? The car is 170 miles away so I can't measure them. I'm getting 16x7 2004 Ranger wheels for it and I think the backspacing on those are 4.5". Just making sure they'll match.

Not positive because I measured it awhile ago and didn't write it down but I think it is more around 6.25". Too bad I didn't see this earlier, my car was up on jacks about 2-3 hours ago. Try looking at the CrownVic forum. Someone there might know off hand.

The 02 and early Panther cars had about 4.5" backspacing, much less than the 03 and newer cars.

Just FYI, I know that Explorer Sport Trac 16" wheels will fit on a pre-03 CV just fine. IIRC, 2004 Rangers got the new wheel offset as the new Explorers, I could be wrong, but I know for a fact about the Explorer Sport trac/vic swappability.
AHve you searched on Crownvic.net? look in the accessories forum, should give you an answer there.

Ranger wheels would be the same offset as Sport Trac wheels. Over the last few years, some of the optional wheels on the Rangers have been the 16" Sport Trac units.
