I have now logged a few miles on my MM.

I have come to the same conclusion as Sarge did a while back -- this car has trouble with the stock tires in the snow. I have a steep driveway and have been having a hard time getting the car up the driveway when there is even a hint of snow or ice (whether I have TC on or off).

I read through a lot (but not all) of the snow tire posts. Driving in the snow will be inevitable for me next year when I no longer have my urban assault vehicle. Was there ever an agreed upon winter tire solution? I want to avoid an expensive mistake.

Thanks in advance.....

Look for Tetsu's Winter Tire solution thread.

The Tirerack package that I specified is inexpensive and
excellent in the slippery stuff.

You may be out of luck ordering the complete solution from Tire Rack this season as they were out of stock on the tires when I tried and did not expect to get any more as the manufacturer was done with the production run.

I ended up ordering the rims from Tire Rack (they shipped them to me in 2 days) and picked up the rubber at a lock Discount Tire shop.

All I can say is "Big Difference" on snow.
