South East Regional Fall Meet

I would like to host a regional Meet in the Fall in Florida and am in the planning stages right now. I would like to do this over a two day period starting on a Friday here at our new facility and have a full day at Gainesville Raceway. I have already inquired at Gainesville Raceway about renting the track for the day. We may be able to integrate Jim Spradling's suggestion of Frank Hawley's Reaction Time Clinic at Gainesville too. Of course there will be opportunities for dynos. Potential dates will be posted once we check with the drag racing school. More details and poll to follow.

I am working the deal with Frank to set up a Super Gas/Comp instruction class during the same week we plan on doing this. If I have 5 or 6 who are interested and prepared to commit, this will get you your NHRA competition license for up to and through those classes. I am going to do it. If I have enough of you that want to do it also, we can make it a special class, and do it the week we're down for the "Bring Your Own Car" experience. I plan on having my car with Dennis for at least the week, for special treatment. You guys are free to arrange whatever works for you. Cost for the Super Gas/Comp course (including instruction and vehicle) is about $1800.00. Let me know. I'm going to do this whether anyone else does it or not. I've already committed to it.

Any further development on Drag Day ? I'm flying into GA for NMRA Bowling Green and maybe a NMCA event also. I could fly in a few days early for this event if its a go. Staying tuned!!! :cool:

This is a great time of year, and myself and a few others may be up for the long haul.

I wanted every one to know this is a go, the deposit has been paid, What we are going to do is source hotels both in Gainesville and here in Orange Park, and get a group rate. I plan on having open house here at the shop on Friday and we will race all day Saturday at Gainesville. I am having food catered in and I am really looking forward to this we will post updates routinely from now on.

Ok, I'm already signed up for racing on the 17th in Gainesville, now I am going to work on my boss and see if I can get Friday off (my wife also needs to get that day off) if we can swing it, we will spend the day at the open house....and maybe there will be time to get my bad boy dyno'd also...spend some R/R with the out of town guys & gals coming in for the event.

Then on Saturday I get to find out just how well the KDW2's stick....:D Come on guys from Florida and Southeast, this is a great opportunity to get together and have a great time...Dennis facility is first class, the dyno room is the best I have ever seen.

Hope to see old friends and make some new one's...see you there. Javier.

Here is an update: we have booked the La Quinta Inn of Orange Park, the rooms are 58.00 you need to call now for your reservations. It's listed under "Marauderville", they offer a continental breakfast. It's a very nice hotel with a pool, (904)778-9539.

Friday, we are having a dyno day and open house, this will start at 9 AM. Lunch is at Noon. We are having an old fashioned cook out with live entertainment provided by the Andy Haney band. We will be raffling off quite a few things during the day also. We will quit around 5 PM and meet at Whitey's Fish Camp located here in Doctor's Inlet. this is a real neat place with great food and rustic atmosphere. http://www.whiteysfishcamp.com/

On Saturday we will meet at Gainesville Raceway under one tent. This for our cars, as well as the friends from several other car sites we have invited, and I don't care if your car is gerbil powered come and have a great day. http://www.gainesvilleraceway.com/
For a full day of fun in the sun on the asphalt, cost is 65.00 per car with the drivers meal included. Additional guests are 10.00. The food will be provided by one of the best caterers around in Florida, Country Caterers. We will quit at 5 PM, if any one wants to stay for the open public test and tune they can pay the track fees and that starts at 6 PM.


Sunday morning we will all meeting at the Cracker Barrel for breakfast and goodbyes. This will complete our weekend. It will be a great event! We will have good food, raffles lots of fast cars and great company, who can ask for more?
