I read a thread from 2 years ago about trying to fit a Mustang Billet Fuel Door on the Marauder but there was no result.
Anybody try this?

The Fuel Door opening is of the right size for a Billet Fuel Door,
but I think the price of the door is al little high to justify modifying the
Fuel Door opening to make it fit.
Its also up to you, and how you want your Marauder to look.
On a Silver it will probably go unnoticed, on Blue or DTR, it will add a nice touch,
but on the Black, well some of us like to keep the black clean,
and only have the wheels attract your attention...

This is something I have thought seriously about. I like the look, but don't want to lose the remote fuel door opener on my 03.
This company makes fuel doors that have remote open capability, and offer different finishes. I like the back painted/polished doors

This looks GREAT and considering I have a 2004 without remote operation - it is just what I am looking for.
Do you know if they make it for Marauder?

Their web site shows that they make doors for Mustangs, F-150's and Focus's. I think the Mustang door would work. At any rate, they say that any competent body shop can install their doors on most cars with modifications to the panel.
I would click the link and look around.
I'm considering one of the remote locking doors, even if they are kinda pricey.

I have the Ford billet door on my Grand Marquis. It fits with some cutting and drilling a new hole to the inner fuel door lip area. I have a couple of pics on my SuperFord site. The door goes on backwards also. Probably because the Mustang fuel door is on the passenger side.

It looks great. Is it the one for the 98-04 Mustang?

Not sure what model year it's for. I took a chance that it was the same size and got away with it. :D I got it at JDM Engineering here in NJ. I think you can get it online for about $80-$100.

I have one like your thumb nail but have not installed it yet. I bought it to see what it would look like on the car. I just held it up there and it looked like it would fit. The hole is the same size. I'll check it out for you tomorrow.

Thanks - if you install, post pics.
I have completed this mod a few months back.
If I remember correctly the fuel door cover is the same for the 1994-2003 mustang?
I opted for the polished, looks great.
You can not use any of the hardware that is supplied (mounting bracket & 4 allen head cap screws)
You have to mark & redrill three of the four holes.
I aligned the "4 o'clock" location hole w/ the stock hole, & redrilled the remaining three.(note that the allen cap screws in the fuel door cover @ the 12:00 & 6:00 position are not functional & do not need to be drilled)
Also so note that the three holes you need to drill are very close to the stock holes.
I purchased (4) #8-32 x 1 1/4" ? ( if I remember correctly) stainless steel allen cap head screws w/ LOCKING NUTS from the local hardware store.
You' ll need some type of gasket mat'l to take up the space between the mounting surface & the door.
( I used form-a gasket mat'l from work). Try some type of weather stripping. I cut small pieces & placed them between the the screws.
Mine fits flush, works & looks great. (looks just like the photo that was previously attached on the GM)
I finished it off w/ the "gas bib"

Sounds gret - can you post a photo?

I didn't take any "how to" photos while I was installing. I wasn't sure it was going to work, but I knew the diameter was correct.
Again, it will look exactly like the photo of the GM that was attached.
(I'll try to provide some photo's this w/end ).
I will be helping a friend to install his & was planning on posting photo's, when the weather gets warmer.
Again, the only problem was I needed something to take up the space between the door & mounting surface.
The door sits flush against the inner lip, but there is a gap between the lower lip where you will be drilling the new holes.
It is approx. 1/4" void you need to fill (If you hold the new door against the opening it wants to rock side to side).
I used a mat'l called gortex (form -a- gasket), it's soft & pliable w/ an adhesive backing, about a 1/2" wide & about 3/8 thk. I cut pcs. 1" in length & stuck them on the door between all screws, then mounted it.
You'll see what I mean when you get there. Consider using some type of weather stripping or gasket mat'l ???
If you get in a bind PM me.
Oh, I forgot, go to ebay & search for "billet" or "billet fuel door".
You can purchase there.

e-mail me the pic at martin_ochs@hotmail.com and I will either upload it here for you or host it on my site, your choice. A jpeg file would be best.

I notice that one door opens forward (on the Birch Silver) while one opens backwards (on the Black)

I didn't notice that.
I guess it's your preference, or he can rotate it 180.

Just a word of caution on these Bullitt Fuel Doors....
I learned this from experience when I had the same cover on my Contour.
The hinge is spring loaded to keep the cover open/closed without any slack.
The spring is inside the frame and pushes a rubber/plastic piece against the hinge side of the cover.
The hole that retains the spring and the rubber/plastic piece needs to be constantly lubricated,
just like you would lubricate the door/hood hinges oif your Marauder.
If you drive your Marauder during the winter, and salt accumulates inside the area where the spring and rubber/plastic piece is located,
the salt will bind the plastic piece to the frame, and when you try to open the cover
the aluminum pins on the cover, that make the hinge between the frame and the cover will break off,
rendering your brand spanking new Bullitt Fuel Cover useless...
Stay Safe !!!

I think it looks really good. Like the brushed look better than the poished. which is strange because i originally though the polished would match the wheels better.
If I do this mod, i will most likely try to find it in black or black and silver.
Going to look around.

The one I used has a locking system, push to open spring and magnet. It had to be put on backwards for the mechanism to clear the gas cap.
I notice that one door opens forward (on the Birch Silver) while one opens backwards (on the Black)
