Went and test drove an 03 today. Engine, transmission, tires, etc. all checked out good. Much better than the 03 I test drove last week. Gave the dealer a small deposit and should pick up car tomorrow, as long as he corrects two defects I found.
1. Shift lever is loose and needs to be tightened.
2. Car has a slight shimmy in the steering wheel. I talked with Service Manager, telling him that the front may need to be balanced. He said that it may be a bad tire, and if so, they will replace the tire.
All four tires look great, and are the correct size, so it just may be one of them has a bad cord.

A couple things I do not understand from the OASIS Report. The Warranty Start Date is 11/29/2002, which I assume is the "In Service Date". What I don't understand is listed under the Extended Coverages section. Reads as follows:

0876 - USA 2005 72/75,000 Ford Quality Certified Warranty
Standard Deductible: 100
Owner Name: Certified Customer
Options:
Expiration Date: 11/29/2008
Distance: 75,000
Rental: 28 up to 5 days
Towing: 0
Contract Sold By: USA 09699
ESP Contract Start Date: 11/29/2002

I don't know if the above means that the original owner purchased an ESP or if the dealer made it a "Certified Vehicle", or both. Any ideas?

Will post more tomorrow after I pick up car (I hope).

Congratulations, you will have a ball with it. Sounds like it comes with an extended warranty that you might be able to assume, for free or for $50 or so. Don't know how Ford works it, but ask before you drive off!

As far as the warranty, it appears as though someone either purchased or added the extended warranty to the car. Nice! $100 deductable, not too bad. It doesn't state what plan though.

IE: I have the 7/72 Premium plan with $50 deductable. Basically it is similar to bumper to bumper...damn near everything is covered.

Basically, this policy is like PwertrainCare w/o towing. For a little more $$$, upgrade to PremiumCare. It covers 500+ components (Faded or condensated lights are NOT covered, sorry). Enjoy and I hope to see you down here.

I was hoping to pick up car today (saturday) but dealer phoned me and said that the technician who will check out the slight front end shimmy was not working today, so I hope to pick it up on Monday afternoon or evening. Everything else I told him about has been corrected. (Slightly loose shift lever - made sure there were two clickers with keys - told him to either charge or replace the battery as it was not showing "green" and he told me they replaced it - and lastly, because in Florida we do not have a front license plate, the car does not have a plate holder, and although I do not intend to put anything on the front, I may move to a state that does use two plates, so I asked him to get a front plate holder, "do not put it on" but just toss it in the trunk for the day I may need to use it, will try to get one off of a Grand Marquis). Once I take delivery, I will be changing my signature at the end of my posts.

My buddy from California, who got me on this Marauder kick will be driving back to California in a few days. Told him that when I take delivery of mine, (they are identical) I want to take photos of them side by side. :)
