Tony Stewart had the dominant car for most of Sunday, but it was Jeff Gordon who held off furious charges from Dale Earnhardt Jr. and Kurt Busch on a green-white-checkered restart to win his third Daytona 500.

Just remember, NASCAR doesn't stop at The Rock anymore. The next race is at California Speedway.

I hope this was a sign of the season to come. What a fantastic race! I think my wife even enjoyed the final laps. I'll take a race over football any day.

Looks like April at Bristol before we get a race where you don't have to worry about areo

Kurt was crazy not to duck to the inside on that final run. Kids got a championship and I guess a Datona win is not that important yet. It might come back to haunt him like it has for so many of the Great past champions.

I liked how Gordon was smokin the tires in celebration afterward. Then, they are interviewing one of the drivers and you can still hear Gordon's engine screaming, then in the background you see Gordon going by slowly and both tires are smoking like crazy! It was hysterical! I wish they would have shown more of him smokin the tires for so long.

You'd think they would use more cameras or something.
