Very Interesting! I did have to watch the video three times due to random images on the right.

Still, have to wonder if that "guide" rope was only that or was really helping the car reach the top.

Note to self:

Never live ANYWHERE where you consider owning/need to buy tires like this......

I would be more afraid of backing it up at this point...

I think these are very similar to the Pirelli studded tires that they are using now for the WRC. Those cars and drivers are amazing to watch.

A yugo could have done that with those 7 MM spikes!

My friend from germany was telling me about hese tires a while ago. I can't remember if their "DOT" over there allows them or not, but I know that our DOT, obviously, does not; due to road wear with those spikers :) But those would be the ultimate snow tires - probably would reduce the accidents dramatically.

Having spent 6 years in Germany, I am not sure where you could even use them. :dunno: When I was stationed at the end of the world (Baumholder '75-78), I would be strapping tire chains on at 5 AM to make it to work. However, the roads were fully clear before lunch ... so off they came. I got the tire chain routine down to about 10 minutes flat and think I could have done it with my eyes closed. :D The Germans were very efficient in moving snow and I never, ever had a problem going anywhere at all.
