I'm beginning to think that no-one other than Steve Babcock knows whats inside these Marauder engines. I talked with the dealer liason manager poobah today at work and even he is insisting that there are forged pistons in our engines. If anyone has access to Steve Babcock, please forward this to him and see if he can e-mail me anything official concerning the type of piston that the Marauder uses.

You can look up the part number for our pistons and ask the Parts Department Manager for a history on the part #.
He sholud be able to get you a complete description of the part,
including the Manufacturer of the part and the Manufacturer's description of the part.

Maybe all you need to do is just check with Ray Sr. (TheDealer) ?

They're not forged pistons in our engines, and they're not standard cast pistons either. They're Hyperuetectic pistons which are stronger metal than cast pistons, but not as strong as forged pistons are. The one advantage that they have over forged pistons though, is that they do not expand and contract as much with varying temperatures, therefore they can be, and are, assembled with a tighter piston-to-wall clearence (ie. cylinder wall). Which is better for prolonging piston ring life.
