View Full Version : Logan's new ride

Logan

Anyone who knows me knows that I change vehicles like most others change their socks.

After owning two Marauder's, one of which heavily modified, a couple Lightnings, and lately a Taurus(!), I'm settled into Central Texas and it's time to get serious again!!

Well, The next pimpin' project has nothing to do with a Marauder. Hell, it's not even a Ford product.

Don't get all brand loyal on me now... Ford hasn't done a damn thing to keep my loyalty in the last 12 months... Time for a new experience so...................

Insert drum roll here...

Click Here (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=4531987348) to see the auction I won for a 280 mile, brand new, black on black, 2004 Cadillac CTS-V...

400hp and a 6 speed in a nicely appointed 4 door sedan with some brembo's slapped on it for good measure. Amen!

Now notice the ridiculously low price I won the car for. $41,600. MSRP's for over $53k. I love no reserve auctions.

Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee eeeeeeee...

Is it a Marauder? No, but it's pretty damned cool and it'll be a fun toy for about...oooooooooooh I give it about 6 months.

Serves you perfectly Logan.

It's real damn nice if I do say so. Like a black tux down the 1320.

Congrats, that was my first choice but then it seemed too small and with no deals the MM just seemed better. Have fun and ride it like a rented mule

Very nice Logan  I hope you have better luck with it than my sister and brother in law had with their souped up Caddy. As soon as it went off warranty it started nickel and diming them to death.

I need to hire Logan as a "consultant" the next time I buy a car.

Free shipping, below MSRP, 280 miles?? I could pay him well for his expertise and still come out doing well.

50 grand? No wonder they have that guy shrieking in their comercials!

This is "correct wheel drive," isn't it?

Those are sweet rides, Logan. Congrats! If I could afford it I'd have its big brother, the STS-V parked in my driveway.

Logan, keep in mind it's recall notice. We got a notice for ours saying there is a washer somewhere in the front end prone to failure and to take it to the dealership immediatly and have it fixed.

Side Trivia: Anyone know what was the first name that the company now know as Cadillac was called?

Olds Gasoline Engine Works? Ville d’Etroit? Brown and Sharpe? Leland and Faulconer Manufacturing Company? Ford?

Never owned a Cadillac ( never say never) never will.
Probably better than a "rice rocket"....with GM sales
slumping to 25% of the auto market. (Buy American!)

Gotta Love It!

Answer: Henry Ford Co.

Answer: Henry Ford Co.
Nope, Leland worked as a consultant for Henry Ford Company when the investors were nervous about henry's facination with race cars and not mainstream automobile for mass market sale.

No, I didn't already know that- did a google search on "history of cadillac"

SouLRioT

I have to resepctfuly disagree

http://home.planet.nl/~nagte017/Cadillactext001.html

Under the agreement signed in August, 1902, Leland and Faulconer was to supply engines, transmissions ans steering gear to the newly-formed Cadillac Automobile Co., successor to the Henry Ford company. Cadillac chassis and bodies would be made in the former Henry Ford Co. plant at Cass and Amsterdam Street in Detroit, and components supplied by L and F assembled there.

Nobody's smarter than Dan, ......or his Golden Retriever! :D

I did the same search as the rest of you guys and the car has always been called the Cadillac; but that wasn't the question. SoulRiot asked the name of the COMPANY that made the Cadillac.

But, you guys have hijacked Logan's thread, :hijack: so let's all go stand in the corner.:corner:

PS: don't mess with folks who have airports named after them.

Logan, nice going, great car, great price, they weren't available when I bought my MM. Love the six speed. The SRT 10 Pickups weren't available then either, nor the Holden Commodore GTO. Hope it works out for you. -kjs-

Keith, I was lookin looooooooooooooooooong and hard at a extended cab SRT-10 sitting on a lot here in Austin, they just didn't want to budge price wise, and that ain't my style, unless I can make a poor man out of you by buyin' the car, it ain't happenin'!

So, at 12k off a new CTS-V, I reckon I couldn't do ANY better than that!
