Well an employee of mine went looking for a new Mustang GT yesterday,...none to be found. He then had one of the local dealers build one up, only to find out that they couldn't get a build allocation (that's it for the year). He then had them check the system around the country for one, found one just like he wanted. Called the dealer and put a deposit down on it (and did get it less than sticker).
This morning, he is on an airliner heading for Tennesse from Omaha to buy/pickup his new GT (the dealer will pick him up at the airport). He'll have the weekend to drive it back.
Sonic Blue with dealer installed "WHITE" racing stripes and five speed manual.

6 speed?? That one is very rare (and possibly mis-built).

I have seen only one '05 Mustang GT running around here ... a red one. A salesman at one of the largest Ford Dealer's in the region said that they can't get 'em and any that are in-bound ( onesies only) are already spoken for. :(

My brother as we speak is finally on his way to picking up his new '05 Mustang GT (BTW, he custom ordered his before Christmas '04). But his is only a 5-speed stick. :D Too bad the weather here looks more like the middle of January instead of early spring... :mad2: (Snowing, again! Temp. to drop to -15C by evening) He's doing a custom striping job based on the '70 Boss 302. Can't wait to see it when I get home.

Y'all remember my thread about the engines for the GT's, right? YET, another major Ford screw up. I've been howling about the dopes running Ford from day one. :mad2:

I have been to two (2) all Ford/Mustang shows in the
past month (Orlando,FL) and they were a "dime a dozen"
all over the place.
Gotta Love It! :P

I just looked at an '05 GT that the customer backed out of. Dealer want $500.00 over sticker.
I'll wait for the hype to die down or for a special edition.

They have them all over the lots here in Ft Lauderdale and Miami. The weather is great, fly down, hit the beach and drive it home.
My neighbor has one, bought it a two months ago, Silver, it is pretty sweeeeeet!

Mike,
Could you elaborate on the engine issue? Or point me in the direction of your original thread?
Thanks,

'NAVCHAP' would be proud of that color scheme!!!

My sister has one, mineral grey metallic, shaker 500 audio system, 5 speed, not a bad car, she had the stock exhaust replaced with an SLP loudmouth system already, and is on the list to let SLP borrow her car to test out new exhaust parts on, once that's done she'll get the new headers and mid-pipe at cost with free install. She's not part of our collective but resistance to modding is still futile.

Plenty of GTs in this area.
Glad he got what he wanted. I also looked all over the eastern seaboard for a car set up the way I wanted.
Black or silver with the charcoal/red interior, shaker 1000 stereo, all interior upgrade packages and of course the v8. But no one would deal at all.
I can buy with X plan through my job and have contacts to get A plan as well. NO ONE would do any lower than msrp. And now they are looking to add a $1000 dealer premium to the GT's and $3500 to the convertibles.
So I changed my mind and went for a used Marauder.
Tell him congrats for getting it below sticker from me.. I tried REALLY hard.
according to http://www.blueovalnews.com/2005/products/job1.2006.04march05.htm the final order date for 2005 Mustangs is 24 June, 2005
2006 models have a start date of 08 August, 2005

Thanks, Mike. On a side note, I took his Stang for a drive tonight. I have to admit, it's a nice car. There's quite a bit of snow still here so I couldn't get into it as much as I would've liked to (that and it only had 28 km on the ODO). But it's totally on the opposite end of the car world to my CV. I'll have to wait until the snow melts to really put it to it's paces.

Oh, yeh, no knock on the new Mustang from me. It's a teriffic car, in every way, and I'm sure the engine issue will be resolved. It's just that we see management decisions and planing that have us wondering what the heck they're thinking about. Sometimes I wonder if those folks even own or drive cars.
