This guy in Florida sent me some photos of his custom coil covers and asked me to post pics and prices of his work.
The coil covers in photo 1, 2, 3 he already has in stock and the cost is $160.
Photos 4, 5 and 6 shows some of his custom work. Custom covers cost $180 and he can do anything you like.
Also in pics 4, 5 and 6 are his custom screw covers. The plain brushed covers are $30 for set of 4. The engraved or God's Head are $40 for set of 4. Custom screw covers are $50 for set of 4.
Photos 7 is another example of his work.

I agree....Sweet looking screw caps! Do they snap in over the OEM bolts??
or do they replace the OEM bolts altogether?

I am seeing a lot of members expressing interest in this guys work.
And I am in agreement this guy is good!
Wonder if he would lower the price if we can get a group buy going?
Mike.

I originally emailed him about a group buy and he came back with these prices. Feel free to try again, but keep in mind he makes these.

I like to see options for our cars as well as the next member, but lets remember we have site vendors who offer similar products that support MM.NET. I removed the contact info in the first post. Please refrain from posting contact info on the site if they are not an approved vendor

Those do look pretty. Is swapping coil covers out something a complete non-mechanic like me can do without any fancy tools?

Can this person become a vendor on the site so their won't be any problems?

I don't mean any harm here, just wanted to help out MM members to get a nice custom product.
I am not aware of any MM.Net vendors selling custom made coil covers. I know The Dealer sells the GT 40 stock covers, but they are sooo different.
This coil cover maker makes them custom for you.
Again, I am sorry that I broke any vendor rules, but really no other vendor sells these. The only people to lose here are MM.net members.
Also, couldn't help notice the 'Autotrimdesign.com' in your signature. Doesn't MM.net have a few vendors selling SS inserts? Is Autotrimdesign a vendor?
Seems kinda one sided to me.

I see your point, but I purchased those inserts prior to SS inserts coming on board. bobwhite ruby reds are also on many sigs and they are not a vendor either

Although you purchased them prior, you are a MM.Net mediator so maybe it isn't riht for you to advertise for a non vendor.
My point is that you listed contact information i.e. '.com' on your inserts.
Also, Wes does not sell coil covers. He sells thumb screws and engrved plates that go onto stock covers.
Again, the only people who lose are the mm.net members.

FYI.......
What are the rules for vendors? Are they allowed on the message boards?
MercuryMarauder.net defines a vendor as any company or individual that sells, markets, promotes, manufactures or distributes any products or services for the purpose of generating a profit, regardless of the product or service's cost or profit margins.
Vendors who choose not to contribute financially to the site are strictly prohibited from using the MercuryMarauder Message Boards to promote or conduct their business ventures in any capacity. Promotion includes, but is not limited to, including links to company web sites, posting email addresses or contact information (including phone and company address), posting blatant advertising or marketing messages or soliciting customers through messages of group purchases, pricing specials, etc. Conducting business activity may include posting order or product status updates or responding to inquiries about products that are not directly made to them. If you are vendor and someone asks about an order status, respond offline, not on the message boards.
Violations of these rules are also violations of the Terms of Service that everyone agrees to when registering to use the MercuryMarauder.net Message Boards. As always, violations may result in immediate account termination, depending on their severity and perceived intent. We are very strict in enforcing vendor rules.
The bottom line is likely this - if you are here to simply take advantage of the MercuryMarauder Community to further your financial goals and you do not wish to give something back to the operator of the site, you are likely not welcome here. If you are here as a Mercury Marauder enthusiast, you are more than welcome.

FYI.......
Thanks...
But I am not selling anything nor making a profit. As a marauder enthusiast, I just wanted to help other members who like the coil covers have this guys contact information.
This is getting out-of-hand.
The guy who makes these did not ask me to do this. I found these on ebay, emailed him and thought...'hey maybe some of the guys on MM.Net would like these, what can I do to help them?...
So I posted the pics and info he sent me...

I sent Mercman The Guys name & phone #. Maybe he can call him up and help the guy get set up as a vendor. I hope I broke no rule's in doing so, I just would like to help the members of this site get something new & nice for their Marauders. Hopefully he will get set up as a vendor & then everybody will be happy.

Vendors are Logan's responsibility, I have no authorization to make any deals with vendors. It is Logan's site and Logan's business. I forwarded the info to him. Thats the best i can do at this time.

I can see a "vendor rules" violation if someone in business selling some part(s) comes on here and posts about their product or services without paying vendor fee. But, if we see a part/product/service for the MM that ISN'T already offered by a vendor here, and we aren't connected to the seller, I can't see this as a violation. Granted, Ford Racing Parts sells coil covers as does Ford Parts, so technically Ray, Dennis Reinhart, and Kenny Brown would be considered sources for coil covers -- but they don't sell custom CNC machined coil covers. So, in my book, Directedby did not violate any vendor rules by telling where these could be obtained, any more than any other person who posts a link to an Ebay auction that offers coil covers (or any other part).
At some point the vendor rules thing can get out of hand where it actually stifles the hobby for members, instead of supporting it and helping us.
IMO, of course.

This is no different than the current CARBON FIBRE RADIATOR COVER group buy. Is that being done by a site sponsor or vendor? NO - it's being done by folks who love their car and the toys they buy for their cars.
I am not a rebel rowser, but I really think Mercman was wrong to shut this sale down - only people to lose are the MM members.
Yet, in his signature he has 'autotrimdesign.com' - are they a sponsor or vendor of this site?? NO, but SS Inserts are and Dennis Reinhart sells them - I really don't understand they hypocracy.
Maybe I should add the .com contact info for these coil covers in my sig?

Can we take a brief time out here, please? Logan needs to weigh in. He's in control of all vendor contracts and authorized products. Good point, Donny, about eBay. I had the same thought myself. DirectedBy isn't benefiting but the coil cover maker is, with free advertising here.
Logan?
