Take a look at this...
http://www.mercuryvehicles.com/vehicles/metaone/

I was waiting for Mercury to release their version of the FreeStyle.
No one at the dealerships knew anything about it, but I know to keep
my eyes and ears open...

Today I got an email inviting me to participate in a Mercury Mariner Survey.
I gave my dealership the  and the Mariner  .

I'm not really an SUV person and there is nothing about the Mariner
that I don't find appealing.

The FreeStyle is about as close to an SUV as I will ever come.
We are looking at a possible 2006 FreeStyle if:
1 - Engine changes to the new 3.4/3.6 V6
2 - Transaxle changes from the CV -AWD to the 4/5 speed auto AWD.

So lo and behold, Mercury is going to cash in on the FreeStyle,
and screw it up with a Diesel Hybrid Vehicle...
Right now the current Hybrid Escape doesn't get much more
gas mileage than the normal escape, and it runs on gasoline.
So now they are going to expect people to pay MORE $$$ for Diesel Fuel??

Has anyone from Mercury took their head out of their a__ for some fresh air???

The fuel mileage should be sweet. I wonder how the hybrid technology will affect the reliability of a diesel.

From the way I'm reading it, the Meta One is just a concept car that more than likely will never be made. I beleave your getting confused with this as the Mercury clone for the Freestlye Hybrid:

SouldRiot,

The Mariner is an Escape.
the Mariner Hybrid is an Escape Hybrid.
Thjey both run on GAS.

This is a FreeStyle Clone.
This runs on DIESEL FUEL...

I know what I wrote about, I don't know how you interpreted it.
