Have no fear of moving into the unknown. Simply step out fearlessly knowing that I am with you, therefore no harm can befall you; all is very, very well. Do this in complete faith and confidence.

Pope John Paul II

Attached are pictures I took in Rome, Nov. 2000

Pope John Paul II ... may he rest in peace and may perpetual light shine upon him. He was truly an extraordinary Pope who was a champion for human rights and reached out to the peoples of all nations. He will be remembered as one of the greatest Popes in history.

He was one of the 3 or 4 most influencial people in the last quarter of the 20th century. Ronald Reagan, Alexander Solzenitzen, Pope John Paul II, and maybe Margaret Thatcher can share credit for bringing down the Soviet Union. Some of you younger guys have no idea of what a change that made in our lives. Even though I was raised a Baptist, I know that John Paul II has a special place in Heaven.

God Bless Him as his earthly mission is finished and his new role in the Kingdom of Heaven begins.

on my mail route today. One of my stops is St. Peter's Catholic Church. Earlier in the day I delivered their mail and, as usual for a Saturday, the parking lot was empty and nobody was around. But later as I delivered I heard the church's bell tolling, and by the time I got back around to deliver the apartments next to the church the parking lot was full of cars.

Friends: Many of you know what I do in real life. Your support is deeply appreciated at this time. A part of my own life is missing at this point. A part of my soul is empty in the same way as when I lost my Dad in 2000.

Very Respectfully, -kjs-

I remember the day John Paul II was elected. I was a freshman in high School at the time. The Brother that was in charge (I went to a Catholic high school) interrupted classess on the P.A. to let everyone know that history had just been made with the election of a Polish Pontiff. A first for being Polish and a first for being non-Italian in 455 years. The first chance I got at the next class break I went to the phone to let my Mom know what had happend. She in turn called her mother, and my Grandma's responce to her was "doesn't he know better than to make fun of the Polish like that?" You see I am a certified P.F.C., a Pollock From Chicago, as Grandma turned on her T.V. she saw that I wasn't lying. Knowing her she probably went upstairs to her sister's apartment and they broke out the vodka in celebration  . I will tell you that having John Paul II as the Holy Father for these past 26 years was a great source of pride for me being of Polish heritage. My other fond memory of the Holy Father was when he came to Chicago. Although I did not get to see him, my father did, he was just a few feet away from him as his motorcade passed by. I remember the excitement on his face and in his voice when he got home from work that day as he was telling us about it. Dad told us that John Paul II looked right at him as he was blessing everyone. Hopefully that was enough to get Dad into heaven when he passed away back in 1999. Just to let everyone know, on April 30, 2000 the Pope created the Feast of the Devine Mercy, which is to be celebrated on the first Sunday after Easter each year. How fitting that he passed away on the weekend of that Feast. I know that John Paul II was able to get the express elevator into Heaven when he passed on to his great reward last night. I will miss him greatly.

Thank you, now I understand what they were talking about on the cable news stations last night.
