Saw a black Magnum station wagon with an antenna farm, spot light, dark tints, and legal markings & lettering today along Rt. 43 in Beloit, Wisconsin.

Either an impersonator (*cough*...*points*...*laughs* ...) or a real LEO, but looks like those sporty station wagons are hitting the streets in legal attire. First one I've seen.

Auburn Hills, Mich. - Unlawful drivers will soon face a Dodge Magnum grille in their rear view mirror, along with a HEMI® under the hood.

Dodge is upping the ante in the law enforcement market with a new rear-wheel-drive Dodge Magnum police car powered by the legendary HEMI V-8 engine. With police requirements squarely on their radar, Dodge engineers integrated specific law enforcement vehicle features and functionality into the original design of the Dodge Magnum, minimizing the need for numerous aftermarket retrofits.

"Dodge Magnum is bold, powerful and capable," said Darryl Jackson, Vice President, Dodge Marketing. "Dodge Magnum offers affordable performance to those who patrol and protect our communities."

Electronic Stability Program (ESP), All-speed Traction Control, four-wheel anti-lock brakes with emergency brake assist and improved tire design are standard equipment on the Dodge Magnum SXT for special service uses (as they are on all Magnum SXT models). Combined, these features provide balance and control for officers in a variety of surface and weather conditions.

These same advanced technologies also are standard on the 2006 Dodge Magnum police package models.

Dodge police cars starting to show up on TV.

Supernatural last night: Magnum wagon

The Shield and (I think) Numbers show the good guys driving Dodges.

CIS has a couple cops running in the Charger. The CSI guys still have their Suburbans (on the Las Vegas one).

when I was picking up the Magnum for E-Mo the fleet guy was puttin together an order of Chargers for the San Diego County Sheriff.....I think Ford's gonna lose big on this deal.............with all the bad press the CVPI's got and the fact that the Hemi's way more powerful than the 2V 4.6

By the way.........if your MArauder's stock be careful............this thing is fast!

I'd heard all the hype(remember the 1st Marauder page on Ford's site with the Marauder doin' a burnout?) about the Hemi and I've seen the HP numbers posted but when you hammer this thing it hauls!

Yeah it's a wagon........

I also heard that. Alot of the guys at work get down on the CVPI because of its lack of HP. Dodge is on the right track and will fill the void if Ford continues to leave it open.

Just alittle more HP and TQ will quiet the masses.

Yo, Ford - you listening???

2005 was 250 HP for the CVPI. Like Charlie said, it won't touch the Dodge Hemi as far as power goes. We have a few here and they're one of the quicker cars that we have.

On last night's 11 PM news, NY City is buying about a dozen Dodge police cars for testing purposes. They even showed some of the black/white Dodges going through the motions.

The city mainly uses CrownVics and Impalas.

When is the Panther platform scheduled for updating, if at all?

If they lose a big piece of the fleet market, will they drop the platform update project, assuming one is on Ford's schedule?
