Finally got around to doing some engine cleaning yesterday. So I go get the GT coil covers to put on. Santa rayjay left them under the tree for the Marauder. They were then put out in the garage, in their plastic bags to hibernate until spring. I pull them out and they are oxidized in spots, not alot, but still very noticeable. Anyone else have this happen? I don't normally buy "bing" only parts for my cars. Now I know why.

I got mine from DMP,they purchase seconds from OEM suppliers,I'm sure mine are seconds because they have a small spot of corosion UNDER the clear coat.
No problem to me I got them cheap.

My GT coil covers also have small dots of corrosion under clear coat.

Sorry to hear that I'm not the only one. Bought mine off E Bay. The factory 2nds sounds correct. Actually they sort of blend in with the rest of engine after all the salt/sand/gravel that was sprayed up in there during the winter.

I got mine from TheDealer, and they are also slightly blemished under the clear coat.
At this point, I am not expecting anything that comes from FORD to be 100% perfect...
I've already painted the letters on mine, cleaned the underhood area,
and installed them.
Next year, I'll take off the Valve Covers, re-torque the Cam Caps,
and install a new set of Powder Clear-Coated Valve covers.
At that time I may decide to strip and repolish/repaint the CT Coil COvers to match...
