Okay guys,

Sorry to ask this off topic. But I am trying to help a friend out with his 97 Vic. He lost all the turn signals, brake lights and hazard signals. I have narrowed it down to the elusive Multi function switch. What is it and where is it located.

From reading on Crown Vic.org this seems to be the culprit. I just can't seem to find out where it is to check it out. Is it the turn signal arm. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Yes it is the turn signal switch/wiper sw. and arm...

part no. XW3Z-13K359-BB chrome arm list $75.93
YW3Z-13K359-AB black arm $80.71

Thanks for the reply.

Is it easy to replace? Do I have to pull the steering wheel to do it?

The only thing you have to remove is the plastic cover on the steering shaft just behind the steering wheel. it should just be a few phillips head screws. next, the MFS is held in place by I believe a couple star or hex head screws. it's that easy.

Actually the last part number it was it was the same as the black one.........these things seem to change numbers quite regularly..............just little improvements made each time there's a new one............newer is better(usually)

Newer at least will last longer. Gave my Sable (not the dreaded Sable) to my son when I got the MM. Had the multifunction switch replaced 4 times in 6 years. Only paid $50 for the last one. Others under warranty.
