Fuel Rail Pressure

I was checking the fluids and filter and such today, my brother in law has a fuel pressure gauge so we checked the pressure: at idle it is steady at 30 psi, when you rev-up the engine it jumps briefly to 45 psi and quickly settles back to 30 psi.

Has anyone ever checked their fuel pressure ? I'm not having any problems, just curious.
