Brake disk wiping?

I was watching one of the car shows this weekend and they mentioned that the new Audi A4 has "Brake Disk Wiping". I picture a squeegie ahead of the caliper. What exactly is it?

Uh, I may be wrong here but the pads always drag against the rotors. I have been doing my own brakes and tire rotations (until the MM) for 20+ years and when the car's wheels are off the ground, the pads have always rubbed a little when spinning the tires.
