from what i've read, it appears the nitrous "backfired" under the car to start the whole thing. 10 sec car too...

All I can say is WOW!!! Big fire and way bad for the guy. Never lost a car that way but it still hurts no matter what kind it is.

Nitrous Oxide is a "Non-Flammable Gas" at room temperature and has not been given a "Flammability Rating" by safety experts yet??

Suspect a fuel leak and the nitrous in combination with fuel did a BIG number on his racer?? :argue:

After that fire, they will have to repave the track.

Did the guy throw his helmet at the back of the car?? :dunno: Sure looks like it in the first set of pics. Later, it's just a melted blob. :(

Doesn't appear that the track was prepared to deal with a fuel fire. Good thing that there wasn't a secondary gas explosion or they would have had some injuries.

I hope the guy had Insurance. He did not get hurt, that's good.

I agree. If you were trapped in that car it would have been all over. :(

Problem is most Auto Insurance don't cover damages caused at Tracks be it Road or 1/8th 1/4th Strip. :(
