My widened wheels weren't quite ready yet, but I couldn't resist joining Lidio and company at the US131 Speedway in Martin, MI. on Friday, 4/29/05. It was a great day, and one I won't forget soon.
I decided to run my MM on the stock tires, (just to test my set-up) and while I was only expecting times in the low to mid 13's, I was pleasantly surpised. Heck, who am I kidding! It made my whole weekend! I was laughing and waving my timeslip like that kid who made it in the backseat of his car with that girl who sits in the back.... oh, nevermind.... :o

Ok, I ran 12.989, (and outran another Detroit-area Marauder... and some stock Mustangs... but that's for another thread).
The temperature at the track was 54 degrees.
I ran 93 octane fuel.
I ran three runs each one better than the former, (13.8, 13.1, 12.989).

I can't wait to get my Nitto's! :D
Timeslip posted.

Good deal Dave. But did you have to get a phone call on your cell from one of the spectators to let you know that the tree turned green? ( a 1.1 second Reaction time??? :D )......I thought that I was bad...

Seriously, I had no idea that the lights changed so fast after the "staged" lights... Wow.. lol. :beer:LOL...that's okay Dave. I didn't know it was your first time. I did the same thing for my first run. What really made it funny was that I was up against a guy with a Nissan 350Z, and I think it was his first time too, because when the tree turned green, we both just sat there waiting for eachother to go first. I was thinking......"Gee, the light is green, aren't we supposed to hit the gas now?....but the other guy isn't going yet, so maybe there's something else that's supposed to happen first.".......:baaa:

For me, green isn't a color. It's a reflex. :D

Seat time makes all the difference.

Knowing this was your first time out makes those times you have even more impressive :banana2:

I'm looking forward to get our whole group together at the track!
