If the dealer says they are Grand Marquis, why can't I get my insurance company to think so? They have me listed as "High Performance Sedan" or something along those lines. $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

:censor: Is yours an '03 or an '04? The '03s have the same VIN body code as a Grand Marquis, while in '04 the Marauder
got it's own specific VIN body code. You can still ID an '03 by the engine code, but I'm not sure the insurance
companies are completely up to speed on this. What I do know is the insurance on my '03 costs about the
same as it did for the minivan it replaced...

First of all they aren't Grand Marquis because of the DOHC Engine code...

Second of all, your insurance should be relatively inexpensive unless,
you are a SINGLE MALE less than 31 years old,
and your past history has claims in it within the last 10 years...

If your insurance carrier is ALLSTATE. a poor credit rating will get you a policy premium that is $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$.

I have the same problem. My Oasis says my Mach is a mustang GT, yet I am paying alot more. On the other hand, would you only want to get paid what a grand marquis is worth if something happened to your car?

Well...the blue 03 is a piece of ***** at a local ford dealership. run down and beat to death, its a damn shame these animals abuse a sweet ride like they do. That car was so bad i wouldnt have given them a fraction of the 22 K they wanted! You can write this blue one off the small numbers produced.

the black 03 however, is from a collector in indy, well, his estate anyway, cause he is dead and they are selling off his crap. this car has 3000 miles on it, and it looks showroom fresh, easliy the nicest used marauder i have seen yet. It looks immaculant, perfect and pristine. they want 25 1/2 K for it...bit more than im looking to spend. Anyone in indy go look at it for me?
