I was heading north up Telegraph tonight on my home from work and lined up with a red 2003 Mustang Cobra at 7 mile. When the light change I took off him and held him up to about 70mph and then he started to pull on me but it was not easy for him. After he give me the thumbs and told him "nice run". I will say he had his work cut out for him to beat me. :D By the way, his car did not sound stock either but what do I know.

You are fearless Slim. On my best day I would not even think of trying a cobra. Most in my area are putting out over 500 rwhp, but that attitude may change May 15 when I win the Trilogy kit.

You da man :2thumbs:

Hmmmm, not bad Darryl. Since it was so close, maybe if you had the Kooks headers and their exhaust package like I do, then your car would've had a little bit more on the top end, and he wouldn't have been able to pull away from you after 70 MPH like he did. ;)

I guess it's back to Lidio's, for more hood liner clearance!:jk:

Way to give 'em something to think about!:banana2:
Do you think that the Cobra guy, posted a kill on a forum like this?:P

I bet you had him wondering and probably worried for a while. Great to play with those guys. Supercharged Marauders have a way of doing that..

He is probably on his way to buy more performance mods right now. can't be seen narrowly beating a "family car".

I don't dare to even look at a Cobra and there all over Orlando.
Besides, I'm all stock. Haven't even tinted my windows yet.
Oh, BTW,
"merc"....I'll be winning that Trilogy. I'll show it to you the next time I'm in Lorton. :D

Nice job, Slim, thanks for representing us. I've come to know a few '03-'04 Cobra owners around my parts, and like us here, it's another inning in the "who knows what about their cars" game.

Some Cobra owners know what they're sitting on, know how to tune it, and know what it can do, tuned. Most do not. It's like this for us Marauder owners too, some know, most do not. Take a Cobra right off the showroom floor and tweak it just right with a few simple mods, and it's one bad-azzed automobile running in the high 11s. Pair up with one of these "knowing" Cobra owners, and you'll get handed your hat and shown to the door. This is where the fun comes in. Handing your hat back, and making him push you out the door. Maybe the Cobra came out ahead, but there isn't anything sweeter than making him break sweat doing it.

I'm sure the Cobra dude will remember you more than you will remember him, and the next time he runs up against a heavy 4 door, he'll think twice about how "easy" it's going to be to come out ahead.

Plus, from what Darryl said it sounds like the guy was cool and gave him the thumbs up. So all in a fun. Good run by both drivers. :bows:

No one knows whether it was stock or not. And the newer Cobra's are supercharged 12 second cars off the showroom floor as well.

Its not that disappointing really:)

He probably will not post this kill. He's embrassed that a "family sedan" gave him a run for his money. That is like us posting a kill on a Kia, what's the point?
